Who?

He plays for Virtus Bologna. Portland holds the NBA right to him right now. He has done pretty good vs NBA players. Held his own against Derrick Rose. Played well in a summer game vs Some NBA team (forget who) last year. We probably wont be seeing him soon though.

The only problem is that with the actual contract,Rubio had to pay 5 milion $ to go in a bad team like Minnesota...and he is so young that also with other two years in Europe he will arrive in Nba when he'll have just 21 years

Yeah, I understand that. I'm not sure anyone understands Minnesota's strategy other than to cut costs.

Ricky finally prefers to stay in his homecountry, Catalonia, so he'll sign with FC Barcelona. He feels that Minnesota is not the right franchise to land right now (afraid of the f...cold?)
After 2 seasons he might consider again NBA (he's 19 yo)

From the AP wire:

NBA guidelines limit the amount of money Minnesota could have contributed to Rubio's buyout at $500,000. Kahn said a package of endorsement deals and sponsorships had helped make the NBA deal attractive enough for Rubio and Joventut to enter into an agreement on Saturday.

"They could only put half a million into it, and I think that the deal with Minnesota had too many obstacles," Rubio said.
