If hopelessly addicted is tanking why is he still in the NT & leading the league?
The season I tanked in the ABBL almost killed me with boredom and whilst it was my initial plan to tank at the start of this season, when I saw the intentions of the Mad Rangas and the Hippos, I belatedly changed my mind.
Wombats will knock me out of the cup on Thursday night and I didnt see much purpose in trying to win that game even if I could, as even if I had there would still be 7 ABBL teams left in the final 16.
As for leading the league, well thats only temporary I suspect that my team is destined to spend another season in this league before my 3 trainees will be good enough to help carry me through.
To win through this season would require me to suspend their training and I cant envisage that happening and even if I did the truth is Div 2 is probably better for my trainees next season as they would probably run into foul trouble against the better players in the ABBL, which would affect their training
The other reason that I wont promote this season is that ladder position will become extremely important and I reckon a few teams (possibly Vipers and the Linguists) just might rob me of the necessary wins by going out of their way to beat me
Despite there being many good teams in this league the three teams that stand out to me are; Hadders, Avalon Jets and your team (Yes you Windies).
All three of these teams have that magic mix of value for money players, class and depth, the same mix that allowed Dire to beat Bryce in last seasons ABBL relegation series despite Dire having the more expensive roster and a home court advantage.
Who ever dares and makes the purchases will most probably win (promote), but my gut feel is that Avalon Jets will because they have the most motivation as they know that Siggy Jolly will probably jump again in salary next season to the point where he will be hard to fit on a div 2 roster.
I could never write off Hadders as my gut feel is he must be loaded given the amount of seasons he has been competitive with relatively cheap rosters
Assuming Avalon Jets does go up, I will keep the same roster next season and have faith that the improvement in my trainees will be enough to allow me to be that little bit extra competitive next season.
Good luck to everyone from here on in
