His team went bot on Nov. 6 2008. The team probably has been set to continue training (bots don't change it, since they'll eventually be taken over by humans anyway), so he's been training for a long time. Since he's ineliglible for the national team while on a bot and will retire anyway when a human takes over the team, it hasn't really ever presented a problem.

He did not meet the free agency threshold at the time his team went bot, and it's a one-time check.

So he won't be a Free Agent?

thats what he means. when the team went bot, the decision was made whether the player would be released or not. I understand your frustration, but I guess the training that went on after the team went bot should not have "happened" if you know what I mean.

We had a similar decision about a team that got banned and had a great trainee. We noticed in time that the team went bot, so I recruited the player into the U21 and he got was saved. I guess that is the only thing we can do as NT and U21 coaches. Be proactive and continuesly check the leagues whether teams went bot or not... I think it is worth the effort.

ps just trying to help, how you could avoid it from happening again. not trying to be patronizing...

No problem... we will live as well :-) it's just sick to see a 48k of 21 years old "dead".

I didn't know his existence and it was my fault...

dont think it was your fault...

i have asked and never got an answer whether it would be possible to give NT and U21 coaches a notification when a team goes bot that has your NT players in it. For the big countries it isnt so bad when 1 player gets lost somewhere down the track. But for countries like Cyprus or like mine, it is a killer blow.

Well, if he was already on the team he'd be automatically listed anyways.

If it helps, it's probably not a very useful 48k player, either. He's got a 48k salary because his team has been training one thing (whatever it was stuck on) for about 4 seasons. So he'll be a very one-dimensional player. :)

I knew, but monodimensional player of 21 years old, so still trainable... anyway... he's bot, he's dead

Such a bot teams in lower leagues could even cause seome human teams relegate, I guess that is a possible problem. And in higher levels it would mean a whole season till relegating to the bottom cause only two lowest levels are getting new owners.

Can a bot team goes bankrupt btw? Shouldn't bot teams stop training, or at least do something irrelevant like team trainings? It could go very wrong way if one position training could be stuck. We could get dominanting bot teams potentially. Specially in some small country it could happen that with scarce new users it could happen that such a bot team could live for ages...

Funny thing regardless:)

It is not an issue if it is reboundeing and bot would set him at the right position in the lineup:)
