thanks... definitely a learning experience tho when training SFs, if you want to create an insane player - superstars don't cut it. Been worried about them capping lately =/

This was my first draft and am open to any advice on how to train my new player. I'm excited about his starting skills and don't know if I should be fixing his OD and Passing and to what level or should I drive right into big man skills and if so what?

That was pretty nice for your first draft then! 72 and good potential. Personally I wouodn't worry about his outside D because he will be a hardcore center and probably wont be starting once he reaches his full potential (assuming that you are in D.III or above in 4-5 seasons). I would work on his passing right away however and get it up to at least inept and then just work away on inside D, inside shot, and rebounding.

Obviously he has some potential. Thing is, I have another trainee who just broke into the starting 5 and I'm not done with him. As a result, I'll probably spend the entire season training inside skills for C/PF. I'm thinking I play this guy 48 minutes in those positions in easy games or (eventually) friendly ones, so he gets some inside training. Then when I'm done with the PF guy, this guy gets all the attention and eventually becomes a SF.

You guys figure that's plausible? He's already 19 and won't be getting my full attention on his first season, but I still figure I can make something out of him. I'll need a new project next year after I'm done with the PF anyway, so a 20 year old MVP with some kind of even skillset is gonna come in handy at that point I figure.

What do you guys think? Am I just gonna waste his potential? Should I just sell him perhaps?

Yeah, but I'm not willing to sacrifice matches in order to train these guys. Guy #1 will get his minutes simply by the grace of being in the starting lineup. Guy #2 will have to settle for easy cup matches and throwaway games. I'll probably get another guy so I can make use of the c/pf position training once I'm out of the cup, but that's for later. I know he's nothing special at this point, I just thought I'd try to shape him into something in the future since he has the height and potential for it. Good 3's are hard to train but much harder to buy, so I figured I'd go for it.

Well, cause I'm not sure if I'm comfortable playing either them at the 5 to go for 1 position training. You do have a point though.

At that age, he's already behind if you want to turn him into some special or the core for your team, especially if you plan to two position train. He's also too far behind for U21 and will take tons of patience if you want to try for NT.

At that height, he's slow to train outside, which seems to be where his better skills are. If you're going to be training his inside game first, you have huge flaws in IS and ID to fix. IMHO, its not worth it. I'd rather sell him off and hope to make some money off him and use that to build my arena or save for a better prospect later on.

I agree with above post, I think it's best to try and sell him. His inside skills have too big holes for a 19 year old, and his outside isn't very good yet considering his height and age. He only has his potential going for him, which you probably won't even need with this skillset and age. Especially if you are focussing on winning games, I'd let someone else make him a project.

What do you guys think about this guy? When not training out of position, I play him at PF simply because he's a defensive liability on the perimeter.

I plan to train his OD for most, if not all of this season (because I've neglected it too long), so that eventually I can move him into the SF spot. After that, I figure to spend some time on his inside skills. Any advice? Good plan or bad?
