But it seems that even with all that profit (is it $14 or $18 million), he still can't buy a NBBA championship. Maybe he likes to pay for the most expensive phone as well?

Or, maybe he still doesnt know how to use a phone & all its features properly

Luckily, there are significant financial benefits when you participate in a friends and family plan.

I think we all should take a moment to celebrate that the USA beat Russia in Olympic hockey today, which is especially nice since a major reason it happened was a disallowed goal for Russia which would have counted in the NHL but was correctly ruled off using IIHF rules. Also a shoutout to Slovenia for beating Slovakia - Slovenia's a fun little team and Kopitar is my favorite player in the NHL right now, so it's nice to see them pulling this out.

I've heard a rumor that Buzzerbeater was going to have games tonight too, but I'm not putting any stock in that foolishness.

I was up at 5am to watch US dominate Slovakia, so I'm a little miffed that I missed that amazing US-Russia game. Hopefully there's more good ones ahead though, with some medals on the line

I have to admit I missed a pretty significant chunk of the US-Russia game too. When I got up I sort of fast forwarded through most of Slovenia-Slovakia and then watched the first period of US-Russia. As I was skipping through the commercials my older son came out and wanted to play a game on the XBox and I told him the 2nd period was likely to begin soon and he could play when that was done - so I fastforwarded and it was right at the puck drop. Watched the second, let him play a while, and he decided to be done and we dropped back over to TV just as they were going into the sixth round of the shootout.

Can't believe that Russia and Slovakia are going into OT. Slovakia's one of those countries I usually root for - I still remember how much they got the shaft from the NHL during the Salt Lake Olympics. I know the Kings, for example, had told Ziggy Palffy that he could play in only one of the three qualifying round games - so he was there watching helplessly as they had like 14 skaters in a game against Germany. Sometime in the second period they were down, you could see the guys were just gassed, and he finally decided to suit up and play the rest of the game. The GM was on the phone with him saying that that was the only game he'd be able to play, which really sucked because it's not like the Kings were any good at all then (as I know far too well being a fan). I also remember Irbe and Ozolinsh playing what must have been like seven games in five days between NHL and the qualifying round.

! Wait a minute... this time the other team missed more shots than me & I *still* got out-rebounded! How is this happening, dog? (proficient vs respectable again). The players were semi-content with your "whoever misses more shot gives up more rebounds" theory.

But no, it has proven falsely in this winter of our discontent! Again, what say ye, dog? Thou bib must be replete with solution.

(being on the road most of these games doesn't help... but that's already factored in the ratings? It's like all my opponents are starting two 20+ rebounders or 3 17+ guys with 1 at SF.)

I suppose it could also be a whole lot of "lethargy's guy tries to grab the ball, but it goes out of bounds" type nonsense. I'd say that more rebounding or handling would fix that but my big men have double digit handling and still delight in pointlessly deflecting balls out of play.

It could also be just that your players are heartless stumblejohns who boast of the rebounding skill of a lion but the rebounding courage of a hammertoed chinchilla.

Welp, I have commuted financial suicide and will be most likely relegating down this season now. I don't look at my schedule till after I made commitments to my team and I had to pay salaries for the third time this season without having a home game. It really sucks too because it's going to take a lot to get back to a competitive level. Overall with the 3 weeks without arena income I've had to dish out around $1mil of my own money. Hopefully next year isn't this bad for me and I can find my way back to D.II.

Can I interest you in intentionally finishing in 7th place then?
Had figured you were pretty well off financially... especially with the few weeks of tanking or whatever that was earlier in the season.

Honestly, if your financial situation is *that* bad & you see yourself relegating anyway... wouldn't the best course of action be an immediate fire sale / remainder of season tank? That would let you get back pretty quickly & get your finances right long-term. Not doing so would only make worse the "It really sucks too because it's going to take a lot to get back to a competitive level."
