Why are you comparing a game to something that happens in real life. As much i have read this thread, i did not see any convincing proof that tanking is a good tactic. please show me an example of superior tanking strategy.

here's tanker:

In season 19, DrunKeN_MasTerS made the semifinals of the playoffs in league Lietuva II.4
In season 19, DrunKeN_MasTerS were one of the final 4096 teams in the Lietuvos BB Taurė
In season 18, DrunKeN_MasTerS lost the relegation series and were relegated from league Lietuva LBBL
In season 18, DrunKeN_MasTerS reached the quarterfinals of the Lietuvos BB Taurė
In season 17, DrunKeN_MasTerS were crowned champions of league Lietuva II.1
In season 17, DrunKeN_MasTerS were one of the final 512 teams in the Lietuvos BB Taurė
In season 16, DrunKeN_MasTerS were crowned champions of league Lietuva III.3
In season 16, DrunKeN_MasTerS reached the quarterfinals of the Lietuvos BB Taurė
In season 15, DrunKeN_MasTerS were crowned champions of league Lietuva IV.59

As you see, he actually played at the start. then decided to save money and be successful to promote quickly with loads of cash. yep, he did reach the first division and... was relegated. a team of experience from season 2 tanked. where is he now? II with 3 wins and 3 loses. does not seem to be a leader, because in his league two teams that did not lose this season are the teams that was created at season 5 and season 7. tanking is just wasting time :)

For the people who are pro tanking, please LISTEN to the argument against it.

There is a difference between those who tank and those who do not do well.

No one wants a change that means that if someone chooses to have a season where they aren't (or simply just can't be) competitive, they severely lose out. In fact, if someone does choose not to be competitive, they can still make money, just not enough to, as previous poster suggested, go out and buy the allstar team.

This isn't "punishing" anyone. It's giving those managers who don't make the right decisions the consequences they deserve for not making the right decisions. They have to go back to the drawing board and work out a better strategy, not sell all players and make way more than others who are actually thinking about (and good at) basketball tactics.

I'm not "pro" tanking. I'm "anti" telling people how they have to play.

i don't want any change. because i feel i get opportunities to win because of tankers :) let them be. it's easier for me :)

Exactly. No need to add more.

You want 48 minutes for a trainee ? Use 9 players in your order.
You want a good game shape ? Don't overplay your players.

first sentence comes with a price. you should agree. i did transitioned from three players at three games to one player as of primary trainee. in rare cases (when i can) i do this. but this game is not about training three players with 48 minutes in one position. you can not do that when you are at highest level of competition.

good game shape. that's another strategy. to buy 30-34 years old veterans. no staff. and in lbbl this strategy is not beaten yet. but i know, if not me, someone will beat it.

There is already many rules telling you how to play. Limiting tanking would be the same.

again. you can't beat tanking? why? tell me where you are loosing season after season to a tanker? show me :)

If tanking isn't efficient, I guess there is no reason to protect it ?

so we are fearing something that is not even efficient. and we need new rule(s) to avoid suffering from thanking that is unefficient?

If tanking isn't efficient, I guess there is no reason to protect it ? It goes against the spirit of playing. I prefer win against a real team than a tanking team. I prefer see a demoted team arriving in my league who didn't tank than a tanking team.

my opinion on this is... you can't loose spirit because just some nuts goes berserk. can you? be smarter.

I don't care at all about the tankers, my problem is the teams around these teams. If most people see them as a nuisance now and in the future, I think it's up to us to think how to change that. The current consensus is they are a nuisance.

why people think and treat them as a nuisance? often they just give up. why? i can't see a reason to do this.
