Ok guys, after playing few games with this new engine i have to say this prevention thing is something that doesnt work properly OR new option in substitution pattern is NEEDED. I highly appreciate Marins effort in game changes and way he handles it. With this thread i want to show were the balance was lost, according to me:
Current system totally ruined game strategies, homegrown players idea itself, merchendise revenues etc. NTs now playing games with 8-9 players, it is ridiculous. It is far from reality that 3-5 NT players play 40 minute games. Why do we need 18 players rosters for NT when 9 players per game are needed.
What about merch revenues when we lost 25% of players involved in game? Are we gonna raise merch revenues so the economy stays balanced? 25% players in NT rosters lost job. That means less interes in NTs becose less players are involved and less players are compensated. Managers dont get paid their merch money so often and lose money so they wont be willing to train NT prospects and follow NTs. Lost interes is first step which can totaly erase NT idea.
What is my biggest concern about this is game impact. Now i have no option to pick subs strategy i want. I lost the option to play with more players. It is common strategy in real basket that with higher pace you alternate more players. With slower pace you dont need that becose you lose stamina less. In BB with higher pace you lose stamina more but substitution doesnt change so faster tactics in game are bad decision.
At least change in fast paced tactics is needed in terms of substitution i think.
Thanks

I used the no lineup tactic and did not abuse it.
(I don't believe in the mediocer stamina lineup because of my experiences of long injuries when they do go down) normally have a full roster to play and my coach by letting him decide would play 9 or 10 players deep.
This really hurts because i have high stamina players I and the black lineup substitutions in the past actually kept my starters mins DOWN!
Last season nobody's weekly mins were over 40 mins.
BB is a GM simulation game. ... if you let the coach decide on the old engine. ... they could matchup and substitute offensively and defensively. ... defensively of i was getting beaten regularly by a 3 guard lineup, in the second half the coach would defensively match up. You can't get that now.

I'm a supporter and i won't continue to support this.

If this game could add the dynamic of actually hiring head coaches we could have some direction of a happy medium here.

BB has de evolved as it stands now.

I'm a newbie who never relied on the Blank Lineup Exploit. It sounds like those who did rely on it are now in a position where they have to learn to do their lineups themselves ... and some are none too happy about having to learn this part of the game. Hang in there -- if a newbie can do it, so can you.

Mr Frank's Thankyou for the reply,

I can only speak for myself in saying from season 3 to season 26 I did my own lineups.
I ran into a problem on occasion. ...I faced teams that were substituting players in an odd fashion. ...I found if i defended their best guy well enough with the tactic that was struck down especially a guard would reposition if he was a shooting guard you might see him play at the sf position pretty soon. . With your set lineup that person defending him would not have a chance. ... but i call that coaching and i was not screaming sour grapes. ....I copied it and loved it. I would live with the results of the actions of the coach by letting him. ..... coach. We are GMs and it is our job to put a winning product on the court. We have meddlesome GMs in real life especially in football. .I live in Cleveland I know this personally.

So for me the substitutions and minute distribution of players was far more realistic than the put your lineup here scenario.

It is a step back for me. ...... been there done that.

The GM numbers will continue to fall. .... people may call the blank lineup lazy but it Is far more logical with gameflow, substitution and results.

So, put in your lineup but then Let Coach Decide the rest of the way. And if you have a guy listed at backup at more than one position (as for example a guard at PG/SG even SF) (or a big at PF/C) then the same thing can work for you that you didn't like working for the other guy ("if he was a shooting guard you might see him play at the sf position pretty soon").

Like I say, hang in there. Ninety-nine percent of the whining you see on the forums isn't necessary.

With respect I believe we both can agree that we are not arguing with each other.
What you have suggested is what i do .and had done for over 20 seasons! The backup scenario im used to seeing. ... what i no longer see now are the starters flipping spots to create mismatches.... offensively or defensively.
And again with a completely blank lineup i would see adjustments. ... this is not a knee-jerk reaction here. I watch EVERY game and it is clear to see the difference.
Like most things I'll get over it but from now on my money stays with me.

I did see that in the press release. . The part when it kicks in... 3 blank slots or more.
Not knowing how the substitutions would work I would have wait for a scrimmage opportunity.
And i actually WANT to make a cup run this year.
Can't sacrifice leauge or cup games to get the answer.

Does anyone have the answer of how the game behaves with 3 starters in and the rest blank?

Ah!
It pays not to be hostile in the forum indeed.

I will report my findings after the game.
