Starting out with 1v1 PF/SF is almost always the best choice for a young player.

Just wondering if, for an U21 C, we shouldn't take into account starting skills and trainer level...
If the progress is so that good U21 skills are to be expected, we could probably consider to give some 1vs1. Question is what is best to get a better player at that stage: 1 pop extra inside or 1 pop driving/handling!?

Agreed, but as we focus on future NT players, most of the time the first season 1v1 SF/PF is best. It creates quickly a strong level in skills that aspire most other skills, thus for a long-term training plan it is most of the time the best choice.

Once again, seeking advice is best, but most of the time when I am given a young player with high potential I strongly recommend going with 1v1 SF/PF at first. Sometimes more than an entire season !

1) if you want to make that forum, it's outside of BB. that for the very simple reason that long ago, in his wisdom, GM-LoD made the decision to post everything in English because the managers don't understand enough of both languages to allow users to communicate in dutch/french. If we do make 2 fora, it will just futher divide the forum (& nation). i don't think you read my post well, but where as i acknowlege the problem of wirting in English, it's a necessairy evil.

2) i won't stop you from writing guides in both languages and appointing managers to answer to them in both languages by PM. but that is as far as i will premit things to go. Some managers have complained in the past when things were written in French, cause they considered dutch the language of the nation. Others complained that the 3 GM's Belgium has had were all dutch and that the walloon part of the country isn't properly represented. So to avoid any complaints, the forum should remain in english. If you don't approve, feel free to try and make an external forum. but i doubt you'll get enough animo on it to sustain it. futhermore, you should know, making an external forum means that you are pulling people away from these forums.

Ok, I understand The last thing I want is dividing our small country in 2 even smaller parts. I will resign myself the fact that were living in Belgium, where we need to speak both languages (or even 3 if you count Deutsh in) in order to understand eachother. But this way I'm not sure if the activity on the forums will be better somethime...

1) Prior to the draft, the U21 coach has to send me the list of scouts/users who will contact the owners of the new draftees, and the max number of players they want to have. Every seasons I have to ask to the U21 coach who will be theses scouts. The result is that the draft script is always launched too late. I should have the list during the weekend before the draft, not when the draft is over.

I will make a new forum soon in order to search some new scouts for our U21, it's already good to hear that Athrunzala and Angi are willing to help, but I hope to have at least 6 scouts next season! That would be a nice first step to get our U21 team back on track.

4) At the end of the week, the U21 coach and the NT coach have to discuss and decide which players will be trained for the NT (very easy: MVP+ => NT), because the training required to have a good U21 player is not the best training in long term. We had the case with Pedro De Nil; C3C asked for some skills when I asked for other skills. My training proposition was the best in the long term for the player when C3C asked the skills he needs at 21 year. Sorry but the U21 coach should have nothing to say about the MVP+, only the NT coach should decide about these players (so we also need scouts in NT, actually there are dartreb and me and I think 2 motivated guys is enough).

In my speech to become U21 coach, one of my points was to give the high potential players a special treatment in order to prepare them for the NT. So I totally agree, but we have to scout them from 18 or 19 year old, do you want me to refer the MVP+ players to you instantly?

Actually the only players removed are the ones I remove when they are 22. And I have to check by myself if the skills are up-to-date (with the help of dartreb because I can't see the skills), because it's almost never the case. The U21 coach has also to make a point with scouts about the players, and say if there's something to change in the training plan. How does it work currently? Is there any kind of discussion between the U21 coach and the scouts or is it each scout in his corner?

It has happened that BigT or guiguits asked me for advice to train a player, but I have to admit that there wasn't much of a discussion between me and the scouts. So we will need to do this more in the future.

I just made the database a little more up-to-date. Wich means that I updated all the 20-21 year old players and I only kept the well-trained and high potential players. The result is just horrible I only had to keep 16 20-year old players, 8 of them are MVP+ This is very weak in comparison with other seasons. This means we have to do something about it. As said I will post an advertisment to have some new motivated scouts for next season. Maybe I will add a U21 advertisment to the player page in order to raise the motivation for training the draftees. What do you all think what should be in this advertisment?

I think the MVP+ should be followed by the NT staff (so supervised by the NT coach) from 18 year old.

Ok that's fine for me Maybe we should reorganize our scouting staff.
Something like this:
2 national team scouts for the MVP+ potential players and the 21+ year olds: JoeMaverick and Dartreb
4 (or more) U21 scouts for the lower potential players: 2 Dutch speaking managers and 2 French (we already have BigT and guiguits)
