imo there is too much time-trialing in the tour de france.

Would much rather see the Prologue and the final TT only. soon we will see Cancellara winning the tour because there will be 14 TT stages!

this year has more TT than most other years, and i think after they see how boring it makes the racing, they will reduce the amount next year... TT is an important part of cycling, but at this stage of the race, with over 50% still left, it has pretty much killed my enthusiasm, as the only way wiggo doesnt win now, is major mechanical or accident...

(or 1 of those bloggers he pissed off the other day throw a tree branch into his spokes at 80kph to teach him a lesson..)

It really just is sad for cycling, that with the dominance of Sky all the talk has switched to doping... Noone is accusing wiggans as most know how good he is, but Froome really is the target, as after 2 years off, he is back and going better than Cancellara...

1 of the conspiracy theories is, they have signed a doctor who used to work at team Rabobank, and he left this year because he was not happy with their new policies (aka zero tolerance to doping).. the conspiracy being he leaves and rabobank has a shit year at best, and Sky is full of supermen!

I actually think the TT has set the race up really well for the Pyrenees and the Alps. Van Den Brock, Nibaldi, Menchov etc are all far enough back that they are going to have to throw caution to the wind and have a dip and taking back massive time on some of the climbs. Wiggo's form in the Vuelta last year shows he can be susceptible in this area.

You can take 2- minutes off someone if they blow up on a big climb. You just need to look at the year Cadel came 2nd to Sastre in 2008.

Carlos blew everyone one away on Alp De Huez and snuck into the yellow then rode the TT of his life to hold on and get the win. If and it is still a big if Wiggo cracks on one of the climbs in the next 2 weeks the race will be turned on it's head.

I expect to see a tonne of attacks on tonights stage. Any time the road goes up hill from here on out you will see attack after attack to try and break the Sky rhythm... I would expect Cadel to launch an attack on the penultimate climb of the day, and try and gain some time on the descent as he is crazy down those hills, and capitalize on the final climb/descent...

I think it will be difficult for a home grown breakaway win like the other nite, it should be 1 hell of a days racing if nothing else.

The 2008 tour is the tour always with the asterix next to it.. so many riders not there.. The whole Astana team not invited, which included Contador, Kloden and Vino who was suspended after the 2007 tour.. No Lance.. It is the 1 Cadel should have won, but got away from him, and led to his criticisms that he was a boring non attacking, reactive not pro-active rider..

The 2007 tour NEARLY turned me off cycling forever..

Whats next, oil on the road?

Very poor form! surely someone would have seen them doing it, how did they get away with it?

I was initially absolutely devastated seeing Cadel get left behind, thinking genuinely had a flat...
But once everyone figured out what happened, I thought it was pretty solid that everyone held up when they could (LOL at Rolland).

yeah it is a sad state of affairs when this shit happens.. you can guarantee there are prolly 5-6 guys sitting somewhere in france thinkin how clever they are... dipshits....

tonite should be a boring stage... i would expect the peleton to let the break away finish the stage, whilst they rest their legs for the pyrenees starting tomorrow. as long as noone challenging for overall or the green gets in the breakaway, the peleton will let them fight it out.

expect maybe to see Daryl Impey from Greenedge in the breakaway and maybe fight for the stage... Liquigas wont let goss go, so it is up to someone else from the team to get in the break.

i seriously do not understand greenedge.. last nite was the perfect stage for Impey to get in the break, and he would have outsptrinted those guys..

all i can think, is that they are desperate for an aussie to be their first stage winner...

Goss has been good... But Griepel, Cav, Sagan have just been unbelievable...

Gerrans got banged up early, going into the barbed wire fence early. so is prolly struggling some what...

not sure if there is anyone else on the team still in the race :P
