yer that is a bummer, but make him a secondary trainee for a season and see how far u can u get him to go. Defensively he isnt going to be of any use to anyone in Div III or upwards, but offensively he could cause some damage in overseas leagues.

He will sell for a fortune. This is a moment of decision for your team. Are you going to become Maynard's team or will you sell him for instant success? If you sell him ask a vet for advice about what to do with the cash or you could easily waste it.

As bad as his IS/ID are, his primary guard skills don't have any major flaws (they just aren't great), which is good. And his reb/SB are both great for a guard. I have a HOF guard trainee that started with great reb/SB, its very useful. Last season, in div 2, he averaged 5.3rebs a game, and 0.8blks a game (ive never trained either from his starting skills), great stats for a guard.

If you kept him, you could start with some 1on1 fwds, which would train his JS, IS, DR and HA all at once. So you wont need to train IS itself and get some pops there. And the ID will slowly pop up when you train OD, so by 21 he may be 5/3 in IS/ID anyway, which is fine for a guard. So dont base your decision to keep/sell based on his inside skills.

Selling him would grab you some great cash and get you up to div 3 very quickly. But training him into a home grown franchise player is the ultimate goal and in my opinion the highlight of this game!

Either way you've been given a great Christmas gift that will improve your team big time. Congrats.

I think i might keep him and train. I am in a bot league so it's not like it will hurt me a lot. I think I'll start with the 1v1 forward training like you suggested and then maybe ask the help forum or someone else for advise later on.

Cool. If you decide later that you want to sell he will only grow in value if you keep giving him 48mins a week and training in something each week. And dont be afraid to ask for help, there is a great group of aussie trainers with a heap of great advice.

that would imply that ur draftee didnt have atrocious stamina to begin with.

which by my reckoning, makes him slightly useful.
