Sweet 16 this week features plenty of powerhouse matchups, including 2 all-NBBA games, but the game of the week is the matchup between two III division teams. The winner goes on to the elite 8 and will be the first III team to make it there since season 23.

Thunderhorse (28677) from III.6 features a versatile lineup that has pretty much played every tactic possible this season and may have made up a few new ones. They've played +2 and +1 enthusiasm their last two cup games, so we'll have to see if they have much left in the tank for this game.

Bananahorns (30600) from III.12 runs with a standard inside team, but in this new world of GDP plays enough other tactics to keep opponents from guessing on them. This team has had a tougher road to get here taking down the #28 and #32 teams the last two weeks.

Prediction: Bananahorn's better offensive flow and enthusiasm wins the day against Thunderhorse's shooters.

Group hug!

I think Thunderhorse actually takes this one. Bananahorns have a very tough league game this week (1 vs 2 seed with the same record on TV), whereas Thunderhorse is sitting comfortably in the 5th seed. I think bananahorns will put a lot more focus into their league game and maybe even more enthusiasm in the league game.

including 2 all-NBBA games, .

Good stuff Fewmit!

I have an interesting trend going right now....If I survive Thursday, looks like I should draw Beware of Dogs in the next round of the cup :-) This week and last I happened to draw the team that I also play in Saturdays league game. Next Saturday is Beware of Dogs :-)

Great 8:

Some teams played.... some won, some lost, nobody except for four cared.

Dang didn't realize I was one of only 29 IV teams in the tourney at that time. I was also one of the three New York teams you referenced in round 6. I am inadequate.

Fun fact: Don't know how this worked out in my league but we actually have two New York teams playing each other in a relegation match for III. I. New York Dragons and New York Chunks.

There's a reason they don't call it "The city that never relegates." Though the Knicks are fortunate indeed that the NBA hasn't implemented relegation yet.
