Russell Gardens has now expanded to 12,000 seats, and construction is underway to expand to 13,000, which should be completed in roughly 2 weeks (10 days is the estimate that was provided)

I've now spent over $1M in the past 24 hours.

Sorry guys, just an information... Before to expand the arena is not better to raise at the maximum level the tickets and only when your arena will be full at the maximum ticket, then expand it? Increase the places is very expensive, that's why I ask your point of view. Thanks.

I think you make the arena "full on every place" maybe the build % is wrong right now, I think you have to have more courtside seats than in the beggining and so on...

make the arena right % on every seat, so when it is 98% full you have some courtside seats, some lower tier and most bleachers empty...
then increase (or in the same time) to maximum price

Very good observations. Your technique will give a reasonable approximations of some sort of optimal seat distribution.

However, the experiments should be done @ a given price level. We cannot assume that price affects different seat levels at the same time. In fact the rules claim that it doesn't!

yeah I think we boost price max first..then declare the % of seats that is optimal.

I wonder if they're ever going to institute maintenance cost for arenas and people will be more careful about overbuilding. For the time being, there is no penalty for building too large an arena.

Surely, there most be a limit to attendance. What's the biggest RL basketball arena -- maybe 25,000+ seats?

Those are the biggest college arenas:

In the NBA, i think Detroit is the biggest at just over 22,000 seats.

You can get 33,000 folks in for basketball, but its not exactly an good venue for watching basketball, so I've been told.
