Ideally you want to invest heavily on the facilities that generate income. Just as important are the facilities that increase your training capabilities and inturn, your individual player abilities. When you replace your older squad members with stronger players at a younger age, you are continually improving your squad and your bank balance. More wins means better division means better sponsorship means mo' money. Stadium is key, yes, but there is so much more around it that proves the difference between a good team and an average one.

The setup of 1st 2011 is bad because there are so many teams involved (the map of the tournament virtually requires you to have microscopic eyesight lol). All I know is I made it through the first round then knocked out in my two leg playoff to a team 10 strength points greater than mine in just the first XI.

Hi Yoda,

As a few of the lads are aware, I have absolutely no money to buy 3 decent trainees, so I chose the long way around to train what I had and sell them off (but they have advised me this is fraught with danger as I may not receive what I hope to when I do sell them). I guess I'm stuck with what I have for now until I build up a bank balance mate.

The level 4 staff all cost well above the measly biccies I have in the bank, so that's something that also has to wait.

My arena is a stinker I know lol, Ive changed prices to (as at 23/8):
BL: 12
LT: 55
CS: 165
LB: 1500

Thanks for all your advice mate, atleast when I get a bit of money in the bank I have a good idea now of what I want to do :)

Hey guys, I just had a look at this forum after checking how my ex-div mate neeber was doing and I gotta say it looks fantastic. It must be a delight to blossom in this league.

You should not overrestimate yourself: you're probably not one of the hardest div III, although you're certainly one of the smartest (owing to your great forum I'd guess).

Your trainees look awesome and in my opinion you don't have to worry too much about the potential: get a couple of superstars as your main trainees, sure. However you can also consider getting some much cheaper star / allstar boys to train along with your superstar. For example, if you train JS one week, you basically have 6x48 min to spend. And this work for any kind of 2 positions training. Then you can either sell these second-hand trainees or keep them as back-up. Their value will increase with training anyway.

You could also buy an older second-hand trainee (24 yo) with a good potential (p.a-s +). In that case he could easily be a strong starter during 1 game per week and then be trained during the next. He would also improve and gain value.

By the way, you can find bargains on the TL. Just be patient, it's the key! For example, I've bought a 100k C - 25yo, superstar - for 500k. I'm training his outside skills (which are already "inept") along with my main trainee and he can give me 1 win per week. If you aren't looking for immediate promotion, that's a ideal mid-term plan.

As someone stated previously in this forum, you'll probably spend 4 seasons in a div III. So carry on with the hard work with the trainees!

What I can guarrantee is that the way you're doing you should not be the ones demoting after their first season in div II.

Good luck to all of you

Blasphemy!!! He's a witch!! He's a witch!! Burn him at the stake :D We know we are good.. :P

I think overall this season the league is definitely not as hard as it has been in the past, but that is due to several bots in the past (i think 4 bots last season from memory?).. This is the first time in a while we have had a season where only 1 guy is going bot, and no super div 2 demotee... So if everyone hangs around, i think it will get tougher and tougher...

I have 3 trainees at the moment.. Is there much difference between 2 pos and single pos training? the reason i ask is 95% of my team are rubbish and i am thinking of dumping them for more trainees, but dont want to kill the prospects of the ones i have...

Well there are some people who know better than me about the difference between single and double pos. training. Though what I'm 100% sure about is that you'll train faster with single pos. training. However there are some programs like JS that you can't train single position. Considering how much you pay for this son of a b**** coach, you'd better make him do his job and train these 6 people when you do JS.

Personnally, I have 2 good trainees that always get the 48 min no matter what is being trained. They are 21 p.-as / 22 hof.
Then I have 2 older boys that get the 48 min if I train double pos. (JS, 1v1). They are 25 superstar / 27 p.-as. The last guy I train is a scrub that is still being useful as a back up despite his low salary. He is 21 starter. Finally I can also train one of my old trainees who are still 24 if I can afford it. So I have my hierarchy.

I forgot the english word for this, but the idea is to give as much work as you can to your coach in order to make his wages worth it if you know what I mean :s

EDIT: I wanted to add that it's not worth getting a 18yo superstar just to give him the double pos. training. He would need maximum training, unlike a future back up or an already well rounded 25yo guy.

So to answer your question I don't know who you're training atm but you got 2 strong guards to focus on. I don't know what your bank account looks like either so I'd say focus on David and J.-F.. Then eventually train the indian guy with them so he could turn up into a fine forward. You could also get a C with 30-40k salary and work on his secondaries. I don't think the korean guy is getting anywhere and yeah you could definitely get rid of some players. But again this is just an opinion. It worked for me and I enjoy the way things are going for me right now.

we do have a great forum.

and i think you are mistaken. several teams have downsized this season.

Dreamers, Blaze, and my own side the Gladiators all have cut salary therefore on paper less competitive. We havent had a div 2 demotee in 3 seasons therefore unlike other div 3's our top side goes up because they arent stopped by those demotees. therefore if we had the likes of FPM and Naker come into our division we would more than likely still have the Dons and Many Men in here. imagine that strength then. but we didnt.

i just wouldnt underrate any teams as they have the potential to contend the title like last season with 6 teams all in with a solid chance to win it

hmmm.. interesting idea! thx for that! the plan then becomes instead of training 5-6 18 year olds, to keep training my 2 young fellas, and maybe find some 23-25 year old that is established in Pass, handle, OD, and then include them in training when doing JS... have seen a few of those aroumd just need to find the right price :D

thx for the help! guess i will stick with 1 pos training for 90% of the time and change it up as required!

i would honestly say there are 3-4 contending teams right now, then maybe 2-3 outside threats, and then the rest, including the Dreamers, are div 3 fodder :D

At the moment, i think our strength lies in the fact that we are one of the most active leagues in Aus, ..

As a league i think we will grow and improve, because we are fortunate enough that people like yourself and Yoda drop in from time to time to share your knowledge, a luxury that very few leagues would benefit from. :D

That's right, having no demotee might make you look weaker at the moment. I'm just saying this after having a quick look, no big deal. As I mentioned you're certainly the smartest and therefore the most dangerous. In addition to that, you also have a good balance between the teams, and I believe it is profitable for everybody.

I wish I had landed here instead of III.13, which was so inactive, boring! And it took me 5 seasons to get outta there due to the strong demoting teams that landed to us everytime. Dammit :p

Well this is the first season I'm really flying on my own and yoda has been giving me tips for a long time. So when I say something, think about it twice because it may not be the best thing to do!

I just have some ideas and I'm aiming progression. Tanking isn't funny, nor is demoting.

And maybe it's just people like yoda and myself that are lucky to find a friendly and active home to drop a word? Plus I do also learn by reading these forums!
