Another factor to consider is that your team performace will suffer a lot until you get your $2000 salary guy up to a decent level. So there will be a lot of short term pain before you can have any long term success.

I see. But apart from that my understanding was correct? Cause I intend to jus aim for playoffs this season while upgrading the arena. My division's quite dead / non-competitive... so I think I can get away with putting 'Player A' with enough minutes for full training as a sub + scrimmaging :)

So how much starting salary would an A+ star rating be?

I'm hoping at least 5k

Can anyone help me to set my draft order? It's my first draft, so I want to get some clue about it. Info about players is like this:

P1 - 5 / A / 2 / 18
P2 - 4 / B- / 3 / 18
P3 - 5 / A / 4 / 19
P4 - 3 / C+ / 4 / 19
P5 - 4 / B+ / 2 / 19
P6 - 2 / D- / 2 / 18
P7 - 4 / B+ / 1 / 19

I have P1 to P3 on first three places, then a few 5 stars players (with no potential info) and then P4. There follow other players with stars or completely blank and on the very three last positions are P5 to P7. Would you do it otherwise? Thanks a lot for anything!

No way is A+ over 6k, it's possible but still highly unlikely. There are probably only a fraction of a percent of all new players that have a starting salary that high. I had an A+ player last draft if I remember correctly and he was starting salary of ~$4200 with Hall of famer potential but he was 19 yr old. Since I am not a single position trainer I sold him near the end of this season since I wouldn't come close to fulfilling his potential.

In my opinion, if you have 5 / A / * / 18, its better then "P1 - 5 / A / 2 / 18", because the chances that he's 1 ball is very little, so you may even earn 5 balls, 2 balls potential just ain't worth picking.

I don't place much in the boxscores but I do remember reading something from last draft where some of the more experienced players were saying the boxscores can be useful in determining something based on the personal fouls a player has. This I guess has to do with the rumoured (confirmed?) hidden "aggressiveness" stat. What I want to know is, are more fouls (i.e. an aggressive player) a good or bad thing? I have a scouted couple of players who had 4-5 fouls in only 20-26 minutes of playing time. Are these players over-aggressive and I should stay away since they will limit themselves in playing time due to foul trouble?
