yes 4 mil.
Yeh and even with that I was lucky to promote.
Potentially but even then I wasn't really planning to stay up at that stage, season 18 or 19 was always going to be around the time in my eyes.

lol no I'm not talking about training players whilst in the abbl.
I don't even think training is relevant in this discussion in the first place since everyone does training..

The point here is promoting too 'early'.. the argument I was trying to get across was already brought up by monkeybiz.. trying to compete in div2 and save money is a pain.. the best I could save was 50k gross a week, if you tanked the abbl you could get 400k gross a week. its a no brainer.

I'm saying there is nothing wrong with promoting too early to get that 1mil promotion money, then tanking the rest of the abbl season... some other people seem to think otherwise.

And like it or not money is a big factor in this game.. look at WA, soon to be 3 abbl titles in a row and look at how jon bogan helped adam guns promote to the abbl too "early", all prime examples of the power of money. Pretty sure WA and adam guns had some kind of plan in process, but the x-factor was the money.

I'm sorry if the relegating managers (Sid and Adam) feel like i'm having a go at them because i wasn't intending to. It's just something that has been discussed lately amongst a few people and i guess when you're an old fart like me in BB terms, you see a lot of ups and downs and see a lot of promoting teams making the same mistakes every season.

The promoting teams are definitely tougher every season though and this is probably the best group we've ever had i'd say.

My team has the formality of enduring one and hopefully two more lessons from the Doncaster Flames, before technically it can be classified as a relegating team.

How is it that with all this discussion focused of the "sins" of teams that promote too early, that noone has discussed the plight and plans of one of the games most experienced players in Avalon Jets?

In retrospect its not in mine or the Doncaster Flames financial interests for the series to go to a third game

Avanlon Jets? I think he was in rebuilding mode most of the season and with good teams such as kynlala knights and monkeybiz coming thru.. he chose the wrong season to rebuild...

Actually I dont really know, cos I was too busy keeping tabs on canberra crushers.

And yes it would be in your best interest to just lose the second game and call it a day, cut your loses so to speak. Or if you think you have a chance to win in the third game, go for broke and go down swinging..

Not sure about the Jets. They played virtually the same tactic week in week out. Shepard could have easily won more games.

If you think you have a chance then you might as well go for broke, who knows you might get lucky by injuring a player or two...

Me neither.

It appears to be the same for all leagues with a deciding game

Farewell to all my foes in the ABBL, I hope to see you all in a seasons time.

Will probably start the season in div 2 with a negative bank balance but will have a few players to sell and certainly have a bigger arena than what I had a season ago.

During the season just finished I've brought 9 players who are mostly fairly well balanced and suited to div 2 and ofcourse hope to pick up at least one half decent draft pick to either train or sell.

Thank you all for the cruel lessons you have inflicted upon my team and also for allowing them 6 wins as well

Hope to double that tally should I make it back there in a seasons time
