Denny Hall has been playing shitload of minutes last couple of weeks. I messaged his manager to get an explanation.

And why the hell am I leading a monologue here? Nobody is pitching in their thoughts about monday's game, were our defense ratings so high only because of GDP or we are really that strong on this side of the court, nobody trying to figure out how to beat Czechs and working on keeping GS advantage we currently have over them (if that dissapears we are screwed).

Denny was/is also for sale recently. Someone in the mix should pick him up.

Our ratings are pretty solid, higher than expected to be honest. I am pretty sure that it is related to GDP but don't have an explanation otherwise.

I don't understand this one bit, but we might have the best defensive ratings in BB. Last season our defensive and overall ratings (neutral court, non-OT, 0/0 GDP or 1/1 GDP correct) were better than #1 ranked China, #2 ranked Poland, # 3 ranked Slovakia, #4 ranked Czech. Seriously. In no way do I think we're actually better than China and Poland, or more than equal to almost a dozen other teams, but for some reason our ratings were the absolute best. GS probably.

GDP helps a lot though. Our GS this week (especially on defensive players) was much better than in our earlier scrims too IIRC.

I'll wait for GS update to comment on Czech game. I'll have no better idea than you or others, though. Czech is really good. We're also good, but maybe not as good. I dunno.

We are not as good. Lets not kid ourselves. We can win though with good preparations and some luck. If that happens then we can do something big this season. Yeah, we do good on defense. But last seasons' rating by France were out of this world and we cant come close to that so I wonder what the hell happened there? What I am afraid is that we have no room for error. We need 12x proficient in order to try beating those teams and them having bad GS. With equal GS/enth they have more quality although perfect GDP can negate that.

France had home court all last season. We'd have had better pure ratings than every country on neutral.

What I am afraid is that we have no room for error.
Agreed. There's no separation between many teams. There's no room for error and we essentially need a bunch of luck to win a bunch of (hypothetical) 50/50 games.

We need 12x proficient in order to try beating those teams and them having bad GS.
A bit extreme.

With equal GS/enth they have more quality
This is the question. We probably have 10-11 elite guys and must rely on GS for the extra oomph.

Point 1: True, I was still impressed, especially with their offense for which home court isnt big of a factor.
Point 2: Yeah, on top level room for error is extremely small. We will have to be really smart to achieve something
Point 3: I am not sure if thats extreme. Take Czechs-France as an example, and take a look at their GS. Its not very good. Now take a look at our GS. Even at current state (this weeks GS) it would be a 50/50 game, especially if that game was mutual TIE. If they have same preparation as we do....... we are not the favorites at all. Getting anything more than 2 wins with teams who qualified for next round will be incredible success. 2 wins I will be satisfied with. Anything less, I will be dissapointed.
Point 4: Well, I think Stronks, Hudgins (questionable), Sammons are elite (as in getting into top 15 of almost every country out there). Rest are fine for bordeline top 10-15 team in the world. Can we win some games with that roster? Sure, but I would advise against trying to chase me with pitchforks if we dont make it into the semis.

I just want to put it out here guys. The game thread has already been posted on the off-site. The reason for that is because I am leaving on holidays friday evening so ther will be limited amount of time for discussion after GS update. We can get some thoughts exchanged under the assmuption that GS will be balanced between both teams and between big men, guards. Of course final thoughts on friday are more than welcome (and even past that since I will try and get some wifi there, just not sure if I will be able to)

Something I noticed is that a lot of NTs are sacrificing defence for IS (mostly at guard) because LI is completely fucking unstoppable. Not many of those players exist in Canada and the ones that do are already on the roster. Might be a problem, might not be a problem. With randomness and the fact that these games should all be quite close there will be no way of knowing, really.

Definitely no pitchforks.

Hall already at 84 minutes this week. Messaging a manger didnt change much (well, he played 36 minutes instead of 48 on tuesday). I dont expect his GS to get any better so he will be useless this week.

Yeah, thats a valid point Stajan. We are missing guards like that, 2-3 more would be nice. Working on changing that so we have more flexibility on offense

GS decent, not great. Hall is off the team, dissapointed in Chacon as well. Rest are good although would be nice if couple of those 'strongs' were 'proficients'. Czechs fixed their GS for a game against us. I dont know how the hell we are supposed to win it now.

By the way, I received a message from Czech NT manager asking to do mutual TIE. So now 99% sure thats what they did with France as well. I hate stuff like that. I am going to refuse to even participate in such practices.
