Well 1st u cant work u r players for something that may or may not happen in the future. 2nd even if u block a shot doesnt mean that u get the ball. It can go outbounds or the opponents get the ball, so for me is relative useless.

A good C must have strong rebounding and D skills right? From a missed shot then u have much better chances to get the reb.

So my conclusion after 4 seasons that i am training big men, is that the 2ndaries that are really helping the big men are JS, and PA.

shot blocking and driving are two skills that are important no matter who the player is or what position they're in

shot blocking doesnt just increase your players chance of blocking a shot but also of putting the shooter off and making their shot worse.

and driving allows players to make better shots for themselves by distancing themselves from their defender, there is no use have prolific jump shot if your player cant get away from his defender.

I am really glad that someone who has been playing this game for three weeks is so willing to muck up the forum with misleading advice and try to pick arguments with more experienced players. It's really helpful.

I made my case about my SB. Now lets go to DR. Explain me then how my 7 DR 11 IS C, is shooting the horrid 42% and compared to my other C with 3 on DR, 12 on IS is shooting 60% on far more attempts? The explanation here is that player A has 1 on PA, 3 on JS. player B has PA 5, JS 7. 2nd player is shooting with higher frequency too. Also looks like experience is a factor too.

Those conclusions is coming from at least 5 friends who are using inside tactics. Sample is not very large for sure, but we dont have any indication that DR is important at all.

So for my DR is very over rated skill at least for the big men, so the next season that i plan to give to my big men some F's training DR will not be 1 of the skills that i will train.

i dont think it is an incredibly important skill for a C, especially compared to all the other things you could train them in, Rebounding, free throws, inside scoring etc

good luck with them

I think its useful to have a little bit of driving for a PF but for a C not so much.

Okay, so back to Shot Blocking for Centers and how it benefits them. I would say that Shotblocking (SB) is not a Very important skill to ahve, perhaps a secondary. But if you are training centers than you MUST train SB once in a while. The lower SB is compared to the players other inside skills, the slower the main inside skills will pop.

Eg.

Player A- 7 IS, 7 ID, 7 RB, 1 SB

Player B 7 IS, 7 ID, 7 RB, 7 SB

Player B will train considerably faster than player A in all 3 main skills (IS, ID, RB) because of his SB skill.

Other than that, SB is probably just as useful as FT's but less useful than Inside Defense.
Anyone care to correct me or comment??
