Aaaah... I didn't write that - one of my very-rare-guest-writers did (Inqui). I would include Chicago, but not Atlanta (except perhaps against Miami). Any team with true size and you can cross off the Hawks.

Hmmm, they used to say that about Phoenix too. Atlanta has improved their record every year for 5 years straight. They have also beaten Orlando 2 out of 3 so far this season, with the loss very close and heartbreaking. Orlando has a pretty good big man too. With Johnson, Smith, Horford and Williams all playing awesome, I think they are legitimate. Not the favorite in the east, but a dark horse candidate in my book for sure. They are 1 for 2 vs Miami, with that OT win last tuesday (which was an awesome game). 1 outa 2 IN Miami. 0-2 vs Boston though. If Atlanta isnt for real because they cant cover the paint, is Oklahoma City in the same boat then?

And every time Atlanta face a team with a legitimate big they struggle. Miami don't have a true big.
It's ironic that you're arguing their legitimacy the day after this...

OKC? No. Because Serge Ibaka is the real deal. He's just raw.

Yeah, i saw that one game they got killed in.

I was under the impression Orlando has a pretty good big man.

Seriously......Ibaka? Raw is a very flattering way to put it.

Dude... Serge Ibaka isn't yet 22 years old.
He's going to be a pretty damn good player...

Not sure what you mean, it's pretty much what I've been saying - and I think of all the Western C's, Bynum matches up best on him.

Well, you said they couldnt beat anyone who had a dominant big man. I was saying the Hawks have beaten Orlando 2 out of 3 so far this year, including a win in Orlando. The loss was also in Orlando, and it was really close, down to the wire. Hawks have held Orlando to an avg of something like 84 ppg. I also mentioned Miami not because of their paint play, but they were one of the three teams you have listed as contenders. They have played Miami twice, both in Miami, and split em. They have 2 left vs Heat, both in Atlanta. The only team on the contenders list they havent beat is Boston. Atlanta plays well on the road as well, which is important come playoff time.

I guess I just think they are better than you do. No big deal, thats why they play the games.

Anyway...

They named the starters for the ASG:
West - Kobe/Paul/Durant/Melo/Yao
East - Rose/Wade/LeBron/Amare/Dwight

Stern picks a replacement for Yao, and the coach can select who starts in Yao's spot. No idea who ol' Dave'll go with the replacement, but my money would be on Pau to start at Center.

Yeah, that seems a safe bet. Melo playing PF and Gasol playing C? seems everyone shifted one to the left. Nowitski?

Melo/Stoudemire lining up on each other... there's a defensive joke in their somewhere.

Sheesh... really?

Deron Williams... well, almost. And if I were building a franchise from scratch, gimme Williams over Paul (Chris Paul's knees... ugh).
But as far as this season goes? Especially *right now*? Chris Paul's the better point guard.

Rose is substantially better than Rondo. And Duncan? Having the worst season of his career.
I think Rondo and Duncan will make the rosters... but I'm not at all surprised they're not starting.
