Ok, so first of all i am only talking about the bonus received from having an NT player. I never gave you wrong information, you just look at the merchandise differently than i do. A 130k player would still bring you some merchandise regardless of him being an NT player or not. The way i look at things is:

merchandise = base merchandise + bonuses;

The base merchandise takes into account the total team salary.

The bonuses take into account all of the bonuses as stated in the game manual, most important of which is the NT player bonus. My evaluation shows how much you gain in merchandise when having an NT player as opposed to a non-NT player with similar skills/salary.

The goal of this extremely simple analysis is basically, quantifying the difference between domestic, foreign and non-NT players.

Not sure if i am clear in what i am trying to say, but all in all we both might be right, we are just talking about slightly different stuff. When you sold the 280k player you didn't just sell an NT player you also lost a player with 280k salary, thus dropping your total salary significantly.

Your edits are correct i do have 3 NT players, one of which (the guy from NZ) i actually bought during that span replacing a guy with slightly lower salary (i sold him during the same update).

Ok so that's not exactly accurate, sorry for not being clear enough. At least the 2 domestic NT players were not part of the NT squad at the time the first merchandise (97k) was being recorded. Can't remember if the the player from NZ was or not atm.

I am actually the NT manager of Macedonia and early in the season i don't call up players who are not considered for the next match, so i can keep some roster flexibility.

Sorry for offtopic, but just thought of that...

It helps some - I've consistently had merchandise at around 125-150% of the league average with an American-focused roster (and now that my Canadian player is gone, it's an all-American club)

I wonder what was the atmosphere in the locker room for that guy...

On topic: Three of my starters are locals and two of them have a hefty salary. My merchandise is always about 10-15% higher than league average, sometimes even 30%.

It wasn't as bad as before when I also had the player I referred to mostly as "the stupid Italian" as well. Unfortunately for me, stupidity knows no cultural, ethnic, geographic or religious borders, and I think more than half of my roster would be "the stupid American" for me at one time or another.

According to your percentagesm my 130k NT players for example should bring 25-30k in merchandise bonuses each, but they dont. The percentages, as i see them, are more like 10% for own nationality players and around 7% for foreign nationality NT players.

Don't know where you got your data from, but I did a study on my 280k NT player. Although there was only one sample, but I guess it's pretty much gives us the idea of how much you will earn from a NT player.

When I had my NT player, I was earning around 150k a week in merchandise alone. After selling him, my merchandise halved, to 70k. This means he was bagging me 70k+ worth of merchandise money each week, which is close to 30%.

One of our local teams bought him some time later, and due to my curiosity, I asked for their merchandise change. It went from 40k a week to close to 100k a week. That's around 40k to 50k increase, and is close to 20%.

I haven't looked into other NT players yet, but if you can supply me with your data, I'll be glad to consider it as well.

In my experience you are both kind of right. My foreign NT-player Egon Olesen (about 250k salary) has a nice influence on my merchandise. When he plays for the national team my merchandise increases by about 10k (Xsagos number). But if you consider that my merchandise is already higher just for having a very good player on my team the merchandise increases quite a lot as well. So if you add that it might be close to 30k (rough estimate since I bought him a long time ago).

But yeah the increase just for him playing on the National team seems around 10k-15k to me.

After I read the rest of the thread I saw that you guys already noticed the difference between base merchandise increase & extra merchandise increase for playing in the NT.

So that probably means my post doesn't add too much. Nice discussie both.

Your evaluation actually shows how much you gain in merchandise when having a NT player that played that week as opposed to a NT player with similar salary that did not play. NT player bonus is still given the week he did not play. He just gets an extra bonus if he plays.

Are you 100% sure about this. I always thought that selection for NT alone wasn't enough and that the playing time (even just a minute) is needed for the NT bonus to have effect. Looking at my Israelian NT player (not at the moment) I don't notice too much of a difference with him not being selected compared to being selected but not playing.
