Wow, you guys are really overstating the star power. Miami, would have won the championship in their 1st season, if the Dallas team hadn't caught fire in the playoffs. Their perimeter shooting was spectacular. I loathe all the accolades Irk got for them winning, they won the championship because of Jet and others's shooting. Go back and watch.

The Lakers will be fine, 2nd in the West, and 3rd best team overall. Their problems won't be on offense, it will be that the old men guards will still get burned by OKC and Miami, on defense. Plus I really don't get the introduction of the "princetown" offense. Eddie Jordan has been a craptacular coach, and saw what he did in Washington. Mike Brown has A LOT of work to do with that defense, especially considering their best defenders play the 3, 4, 5. and the NBA, as a whole, is more 1, 2, 3 oriented.

Kind of what I was trying to say. You have your aging players on the Lakers, your young, up-and-comers on OKC and the team in its prime and the one to beat in Miami. LA isn't winning a championship this year. No way.

Mike Brown has A LOT of work to do with that defense, especially considering their best defenders play the 3, 4, 5. and the NBA, as a whole, is more 1, 2, 3 oriented.

It is DEFENSE that wins championship, not offense. Look at Miami in the finals last season. They were able to shut down KD, Harden and the bench when it mattered most. Lastly, speed kills.

Steve Nash will get burned, but all roads lead to Dwight Howard in the paint, so thats really not a big deal.

Im not sure what you're talking about with the defense.
perennial D POY yandidate at the 5
a 7 footer at the four
Metta World Peace, who is really only a defensive stopper at this point
and Kobe, who is an above average defender.

Im not saying they will win a title, Im just saying they can beat Miami or OKC.

Haters gonna hate lol

I do believe that too many stars CAN be a problem, isnt necessarily one, only way is to wait and see... No doubt the lakers only have a couple seasons to win, they r going all out, but as ppl said, D12 and Bynum took about the same amount of shots, difference is D12 makes more shots plus is better on def... Also, Nash takes about the same amt of shots Sessions took last season, but Nash makes them cuz he waits for the right shots and his passing is amazing, something that Sessions can only dream about...

All in all, they r def a much better team as long as the stars get along and M Brown doesnt get in the way, just let Nash run the ball and the offense in gerenal, Kobe will get open shots, Gasol and Dwight will get the rebs, I dont think Gasol will take that many shots anymore, so D12 will take many and make most, I think they'll be just fine...

Steve Nash is going to be a kid in a candy store. Hes basically got bigger, better versions of Amare Stoudemire and Shawn Marion. Oh yeah, and maybe the best offensive player in the history of the game. That too.

You dont think Kobe is in that conversation? Im not saying hes the best, but if youre going to debate greatest offensive player of all time you have to mention him.

Especially if youre gonna throw Malone in there. Malone but not Kobe? Really? I could argue he wasn't the best offensive player on that team!

Hehehehe ya dude, as long as M Brown doesnt get in the way and let Nash do his thing, he's gonna have a great time and I look forward to seeing the Lakers playing, whether or not they win the league I dont care, I think its gonna be fun to watch em anyway...
