Hi Jona,

totally second that. I was winning nothing with a very expensive roster on my 30+ seasons spell in BBBL, and I was losing interest (forgot lineups and so on). I sold what was still worth money, had a couple of nice belgian trainees and after several seasons in D.2 I was ready to bounce.

I wish you luck in your rebuild !

I'm going on a total rebuild next season so I won't mind going down for a while where I can afford some mistakes sometimes because my desire (and time) to play is a bit less this season. So I will focus again on the most fun part of this game and that's training some new talents. But I won't give it away for free But you're clearly the favorite now as I only have 4 real players, while you're bench is stacked.

Pretty disappointing season for me I have to say.

Bad luck in some games on the one hand, poor decisions in some other games on the other hand, plus the games that I voluntarily gave up in order to try something in the tournament, led me to a hard-fought second spot I didn't even believe in anymore a couple of weeks ago.

I wasn't able to win the tournament but I also needed Kelmis to be a bit unlucky at some point there, unfortunately for me (and fortunately for Dartreb :-)) he was able to steer his boat perfectly which means he's very likely to win both the championship and the tournament for a second season in a row.

This season made me realize that my team just wasn't good enough to win anything, meaning that I was in a delicate situation. I had an expensive roster but wasn't able to win anything, definitely not the place you want to be in. So I had the choice between going all-in and emptying the bank account in the next 2 seasons, or dialing back the quality of the team in order to save money while still trying to stay in BBBL. Next season will tell if that was the right choice!

Best of luck to everyone for the playoffs and playdowns!

I feel bad for you as I always seem to step on your feet lately. I have a "superteam" which is something I always was pretty much against, but too often have I been in your shoes with a roster strong enough to reach the playoffs but not enough to win anything.

I changed my way of managing and yeah, it really works, but it only relies on brute force.

That being said, I can't sustain this forever, even with the wins, I'll make one or 2 seasons and then I'll have to think of something else because my bank account is getting slowly drained.

Nowadays anyway, I don't think you can still win with a good roster, as one team around will be paying premium to have a fantastic one (I'm spending 1,16 M on wages) and beat you.

@Giodeb : Nice work on surviving your first BBBL season like a boss ! You have a good team, not very old, you can be proud of you.
