update:
after having sold 14 players the last 14 weeks, the players in my squad who are there for a long time and normally would fetch 98% now fetch 96%.
when I was at 13 sales in the past 14 weeks it was still 97%.

So 1 sale per week on average bringst the max sale at 96% for players who are in your team for a long time.
And going from 13 sales to 14 sales lets the tax get up 1% from 3 to 4%.

They are not your friends; they dispise you. I am the only one you can count on. Trust me.

Looks like you can sell 10 players in a season without really suffer much. If you're selling 20 players per season, you're losing 15% or so and beyond that its just painful.

I think as time goes by this will encourage 'spurts' of trading or 'clearouts'

If you go mad for 2 weeks selling and buying players and this is good enough to see you through 2 seasons this is still possible. I like this as it will assist newly promoted teams upgrade (providing they have the cash).

Why spurts as opposed to the same number of players over a season or so?

Either way, it looks like it is an acceptable solution, at least to me.

Well I guess if you wanted to take an extreme example you could have one MAD day on the TL where you slowly accumalate a massive roster (or just go shopping after the economic update) then sell everyone listing them on the same day. Not sure if this would be possible) It could be a way to make a quick 2mil once a season or so... maybe not as productive as slowly improving your team at opportune moments but for a team who has saved some money spending 4mil and listing for total of 6mil could be interesting.

But for me for example... when my % are more sensible to go back and have a dabble I will give myself the full 10-15 transfers or so to make a roster improvement which I hope should last me for 1-1.5 seasons....I will hopefully upgrade non training positions and prune back/add more squaddies depending on the competitions I am in / level of expected competition for the season.

not at the moment, the amount of players sold last 14 weeks dropped below 14 again for me, so my players are back op to 97%...

I might have 1, the one I last bought, which might give some info that might intrest you, let me look it up...
