I'm QA Manager for a major software company. I had my share of MS SQL, MySQL and so on. No programming, but lots of contact to it.

Which banner are you trying to link? If it's just a link, it will look something like <a href="www.buzzerbeater.org">BuzzerBeater</a>
If it's an image, you'll probably have an <image> tag, that might look something like this:
<a href="www.buzzerbeater.org">
<img "[some link to the image]">
</a>

Hey everyone. I've been in Europe scouting out the Italian BB players for the last while. I am back, and I hope to contribute some invites!

I see that from the people I invited and created teams, only 2 are left in my list now... I assume they didn't like the game and left...
Considernig this is a retention problem and the contest was about bringing people in, it should not matter, but I'm sure it will.

Rigged, I tell ya

Read the first post, it's well-defined what counts for your total.

Retention is a responsibility of the game, isn't it?

The game has to be attractive enough to make people stay...

Oh well...

I guess it depends on whether the records are deleted, or just disassociated. Perhaps you're right.

Retention is our responsibility, yeah. Realistically, though, it's tough to keep even a majority of the people that sign up. There has been some research on the subject, and even the best "sign up and play" games have a mid-term retention rate of at most 40%, which makes things difficult. True, users that are referred by a friend have a higher likelihood of sticking around, but there is a logical limit to it.

Perhaps we'll need to rethink the tracking of referred users for the page and for this contest, etc.
