I always find those alley-oops where no one gets an assist; so unrealistic but it's fairly common at least in my team's games. Has anyone else noticed that?


I'm too busy noticing my guys finding an open lane to the basket followed by an inevitable missed layup, and the ever-present fumblefingers on rebounds to notice that. ;)

That should be the link to the play by play. Julio Garcia is the one that did it...he hit the shot with 1 second left in the 3rd quarter! So it was a Buzzer Beater, self assisted three!

Wow that's crazy. The only semi-plausible explanation is that his pass somehow got deflected back to him, and with 1 second left he had to put up the shot, which he luckily made. Not sure how you would code that probability into the GE though. I love how it's the center who did it too; not exactly the team sharpshooter right there.

The deflection would not create a self assist though...in fact, I don't think it is possible in basketball to be credited with a self assist. That's the funny thing, the GE must have a glitch in it if someone can pass to themselves...

Twin Towers

Earlier today, the Panthers acquired Center Kelly Hull. Hull is a fantastic player that the Panthers went after to be a compliment to Jason Funk. Two big men like these will be hard for any team to stop. The addition of Kelly Hull will help the team out immensely. The main issue is finances. Will the Panthers be able to save enough money to pay Kelly Hull's salary?

In other news, the Panthers improved to 8-1 last night with a win over Minsk-2006. Jason Funk got a amazing 29 rebounds in the win. Next game will be at the Baylor Bears, Tuesday night at 8 pm. How will Kelly Hull and Jason Funk do? Find out on Tuesday. Go Panthers!
