has anyone else noticed the extraordinary drop in World Rankings we have experienced this season?

Eugene began the season at 94, is now at 164.
Jason began at 73, is now at 103.
Magiker, 58, now at 153.

Raydq14 (Milwaukee-Bucks), who is kicking tail in our country's premier league, has fallen from 168 to 175.

Anchorage, who i can assure is absolutely loaded with talent, has fallen to 287 from 239.

A-Dub is the major exception i have found, but although he is only blowing through the B3 after winning two titles last season and is favored for two more this season, he has moved from 48 at the start of the season to only 42 today.

I forget how high the Horde or Tucumcari got in the world rankings, but one of those squads made the top 20 or so, and i think Magiker at his peak was still ahead of where A-Dub is today.

i don't know what to make of this or how to account for it.

I could be totally making this up but did we get a boost in WR during magiker's NT rein when we got silver and gold? Some of that not being factored in any more?

Yeah, it's been brutal for us this season. I do not remember all of the specifics, but the rankings formula considers a variety of factors and is obviously a forward looking # to indicate more of a trend a team is moving in.

That said, in the short term it considers a variety of things when processing the new rankings each Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Among them is you will always take a hit when playing a bot team. Even if you beat the bot team 100-0, you are going down in the rankings. Also, you take a hit when playing a team punting against you. So Milwaukee didn't benefit at all from their win over #1 Upsyndrome because A-Dub punted the game. Additionally, you will get even more credit in the formula if you play a top level ranked team, full team vs full team if they put more effort in than you do.

There are other variables that I can't remember. Also, I am sure this happened more than once this season, but I noticed this past week, that every game last Saturday with the exception of my game vs. In Your Face was a punt...So the rankings formula didn't like our league at all last week

My teams' WR has fluctuated each week throughout the season; my WR has been as high as 52, and as low as 34.

Wow! Brutal way for Eugene to lose tonight. Game tied, and they commit a Flagrant foul with 3 seconds left. Anchorage made both FT's and, kept possession promptly getting fouled with 1 second left. After two more made FT's and a 4 point lead Eugene nails a meaningless 3 at the buzzer to lose by a point. Ouch!

it was not a flagrant foul -- no blood, no injury, Pequeno took a flop.

i always tell myself that i lose when i foul a lot -- but i'm only fooling myself. my boys foul superior players, and so my fouling is a sign of weakness, not of bad luck.

but be warned, Jason: Anchorage is very, very good. can't wait to see the rematch of your two teams.

Ohhh believe me, I know! Anchorage is the best all around team in the Big 8. Especially when you play the same team(s) over and over, you can get a feel for what to expect going into a game. That said, I have no clue what to make of my games against Anchorage. Our games usually go in a way that is very different than how we normally fair.

I mean, we might both come in scoring like crazy, and then neither of us can score against each other. Typically neither of our teams are high fouling teams, but we foul the heck out of each other. Anchorage absolutely owns me in Private League play, but we seem to step up and win games in League play against them.

Was really routing for Anchorage to lose tonight so our match-up in the last game of the season would be meaningless....but now it looks like that game may very well determine HCA through the playoffs in our conference, and perhaps even through the Finals.
