You're not the only one, I've always insisted some SB is useful, including on guards.

Yet, quoting the game manual,

I agree it does work when used on that mutual team support, everyone or nobody on sb hype it should be.

But training sb for nt is not taking it to 17, unless effectively you just want to give up on IS, salary wise.
You could take it to 12 maybe, but then you are making a player like this

That is, exchanging 1-2 levels in IS and ID for the similar salary. And asking this to a committed manager is not the nicest.

I'd rather Gully just picked someone he was happy to work with, unless we actually get an U25 competition like I asked for on the suggestions forum

Both great suggestions, U25 would certainly provide a huge bonus to that critical gap in the attention of NT managers

Once upon a time I had an NT centre Darryl Austin, rubbish secondaries but 18 16 16 12, and the 12 SB made a little difference at NT level (it had far more impact at EBBL level).
I think 18 / 17 / 14 / 14 would be interesting.

Our NT manager has done a great job with the players he has, but I think it's a big ask for him to get the 22-25 year olds with the best owners for their continued development.

Great suggestion. I also like your idea about an u24 or u25 competition, but when it was suggested before people seemed to make a huge dog's dinner of it and made it sound like a mess. Its still at its core, an excellent idea.

There's also been a lot of talk in this thread about training. While relevant, I believe its missing the point. It isn't that people are training players badly. Except in my case perhaps. Or being badly advised. Its that many people with trainees don't do anything with them. I've tried to get them to see the value of them, see my posts in every league's forum last season, but I don't think they're being read.

Zeus can tell you how difficult it is to get people to even realise we're trying to help them.

I'd love to help all those people who want to train someone to find a suitable draftee, but I think we all know they're not numerous. And they're often ludicrously priced.

I do have some thoughts on what we could do if we had a busload of MVPs every season. But until we find a way to persuade people what is basically in their own interests, then we face the same problems we're seeing now.

The PF/C I'm training at the moment, would have had, without checking my spreadsheet, 14/17/14/16 or thereabouts. Unfortunately if I promote I'll probably have to sell him and he'll be trained differently if at all. Though he wouldn't have been an NT player.

The suggestion of putting someone in charge of 22-25 year olds, I think, is an excellent idea and provides managers not only with information on how to train there player to get the best out of them but as motivation to get them at a level where they can make the national team and bring in extra merchandise for the club.

I would love to take on a role like this, however I don't feel I have enough experience training every position. Now I know how to train guards, I've produced a few decent U21 guards over my managerial career (I have had previous accounts) but the problem is I've only ever had one trainee with potential of MVP or higher so they cap far too quickly. I've also trained big men a bit but not enough to provide a manager with a 3 season plan during the ages if 22-25 as I wouldn't want to jeopardise the managers chance of having a NT player or having a player who will end up having too high salary to manage.
I have also never trained SF's, so I would be a bit unsure of this, although I believe it may be a combination of both.

Perhaps it shouldn't be one person then, maybe two of three would be better. Though its probably best if one of the qualifications is an ability to take a differing opinion without spontaneously combusting.

Maybe, it should be more than one as then that person doesn't have the total workload of having too many trainees, they can have a handful. And yes, I do agree with the differing opinions also.

As Gully has said and i will confirm it is very hard to get people to sell their prospects of attempt to train them as for some reason they see us as invasive and trying to get players trained how we want them. The sooner that the majority realise that we are just trying to help them train their players correctly the quicker we can move on. At the end of the day the NT is just a bonus.

In terms of the U25 team i think that is a brilliant idea and one that should be brought into the game. There for the most part is a huge leap between U21 and NT especially for most guards/SFs of nations that are trying to compete. It doesn't surprise me that a lot of people dump even MVP+ players at 21/22 because training them from 21 to NT level is still a heck of a long way, in most cases still more work than training them 18-21, a middle of the road U25 team would be a solid way to keep people interested in training to a high level and seeing the players progress through the ranks.

In terms of 22-25 scouts/advisors. We could vote for them on the forums but i do feel like there wouldn't be enough voters and people who show an interest should be given a shot at it, it can't be worst than having no one there at all. I'm happy to work with these people as the U21 coach to ensure my best prospects can move into the next stage of development and will continue to have help if needed from committed managers.

Possibly meaningless, but, the two current group leaders in the Euros are Finland and Lithuania. You might recognise those countries, since they're the two teams that qualified ahead of us. Finland beat Ukraine, who topped their group with a 7-0 record, by 31 pts.

Have we got in our not squad similar player to this one (25349473) ?
