And now to something completely different! I am glad to understand that "nothing hidden in this aspect" goes so well together with "How this "game" works out is calculated by a comparison of some sort of a combination of player skills and the relevant team ratings."

*lol*
(no harm meant)

I am not quite sure what you mean by hidden in this aspect. Obviously, the exact algorithms used by the GE will not be laid out in public -- I think you'll agree this is not an unreasonable suggestion. I don't think there is any deliberate obfuscation there.

As for my answer, I wasn't going to quote the entire Game Engine page of the rules (it's quite long), but I'd recommend it to everyone who has questions about how the game works: (/BBWeb/rules.aspx?nav=GameEngine).

(10298638) Why? Is it bad tactics? Or too much fouls? Or smt else?

I'd probably say stamina was the main factor here. You can see that your team gets progressively worse as the game go's on and especially in the last quarter, he ran over the top.

Tactics and everything else were pretty much a non-factor from what i can see (although he had a lot more free throws as well)

In rules it is written that if you use slow tactics, your score is better, but in the end you score less. That's what happened here in the 4th quarter. The new engine changes are just like curse to me - if I use fast pace tactics I lose because I make a lot of mistakes and if I use slow tactics I lose in the last quarter like in your example.

I don't see how slow tactics can be linked to last-quarter breakdowns.

It seems to me that recent engine changes has a lot of to do with stamina. As I remember it was said that slow tactis are better for those who have only few good players. So if I use slow tactics the manager keeps my starting players on the court as long as possible (apr. 46-48 min.) but eventually they got tired in the last quarter and that results in more missed shots. Still it's only my observations.

This is not true, and there must be another reason why your players are playing close to a full game.

You lost because you shot 53% from the line.

I think this GE must be very realistic if they can come so close to predicting the outcomes of NBA games. And, in real basketball, if you shoot 53% from the free throw line while taking 14 fewer free throws, your team is gonna lose most of the time, especially if both teams are of a similar caliber.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.
