I like to get off to a good start, hence a normal at home to put a W on the board and hopefully a nice PD with it. I prefer to get the wins in the bank early, so then I can TIE at the end of season in those meaningless games, just in time for playoffs.

Sigh.... I'm really not prepared to be violated just yet. :(
my only saving grace is that I have an easy easy Cup game to bring my spirits back up. :)

At least you're in the easy conference... ;)

Looks like Vics may be a possible tanker this season. After a file sale and then purchasing two 18yo's, a MVP SG and HOF SF, looks like a new approach is being taken.

There is definitely a more consistent, high level of competition in the Big 8 but you will find the majority of League winners has come from the Great 8 in the last few seasons. I think Chelsea Seagulls is the only Big 8 winner since I'v'e been here. With the ABBL relegate on our side, could well be another champion from the Great 8 this season!

Thought I better double check and looks like I forgot HA from the Big 8. I then went all the way be through to season 10 and only 1 other Big 8 winner (Razzle Dazzles). So as hard as you all may compete in the Big 8, when the conference winner finally gets to the big one, it's likely they'll just lose anyway! :-P

Not at all. Have a look at the final standings from last season. 9-13 was good enough for 4th place in the Great 8!

Big 8's two promotee's this year were myself and Corio, who is ex-abbl from 3 seasons ago. So its kinda like having an ABBL-er relegator on this side.

i think thats what makes it slightly more difficult to judge which is the more difficult conference.

IF Vics are tanking, and i say that with a big IF, because ill only ever believe someone is tanking after about 20 games of the season. ha.... so if he is, then maybe Big 8 is slightly easier.

maybe. .....slightly..... maybe.

Last 2 seasons have been quite competitive, especially last season. I think we'll see the same again, unless Hadders starts spending all his ABBL money. He could decide to do this towards the of the season, just to let our hopes rise. We've not had a late season "buy up" winner since HA really, so probably due in for another.

Looks like both sides have 2 ex ABBL teams. Snuffies and Corio have been up, while Hadders and Haggards have each had a taste of the big league.
