i wouldnt want to if i didnt have to
im just trying to say things so i have some sort of election platform so it looks like i am a serious candidate so you will feel better when you win lol

but no seriously, im technically an NT scout (look at the offsite forums; not that i have been scouting much for a year)

i wasnt ever really engaged at the NT level to do anything else... and i really didnt have much time the past few seasons to do too much

for the next manager candidate, are there anything in the plans to provide more engagement and credit to the community?
there are often discussions on the offsite forums, how about providing those who given constant feedback an "assistant coach" or "offensive coordinator" title on the team's front page or somewhere on the forums?
it doesnt have any solid returns, but i dont think it hurts?

If people wanted a title they could have one. The main problem is that we probably only have a handful of people who post anything on the offsite forum about the actual games. There is more interest for the U21 team I think because it is a lot easier to be in D3 or D4 even and get a player on the team.

I'd like to get the managers in lower divisions to know that they can start to make special players for the NT and that they can hopefully be bought by Canadians. I think I would like to introduce a page on the forums which recognizes the managers who did a good chunk of training. So we could have a player like Duncan Arsenault who should make the NT soon and under his name say trained by the habs19 of the East Side Rangers and give these teams credit for making NT calibre players, but not being able to afford them being on the NT.

yes get the ball rolling on these things =)

i feel that the NT can be more than just winning games and just placing whatever rank in whatever tournament
it can be an entire program management

as you have done here in your post:
- offer lower division players a chance at doing something
- congratulate those that have put in effort, contributed to the program and maintained that level of commitment

i would really like to see the NT as more of a community program than a competitive program
until we can develop that community and commitment from the bottom up, i dont think we will ever have what it takes to beat the powerhouses

not to say i have a magical solution to our continuous lack of activity (though bballin has done a great job at solving some of our deficiencies), but since its come up over and over, i think its worth another discussion to get some traction on some solid NT programs to increase activity

but yea, i would really like to see the off-site forum be re-vamped/consolidated... i hope its not just me lol

Well I think there's a limit of how many people will have an interest in BB above their own team. I think we need to focus more on the managers who have shown that they are more willing to participate in the Canada community. Probably focusing on the managers who come to the chatroom for games, participate in the Canada Forums and managers who already have or are making U21/NT players.

So maybe this season we start up a thread for D4 managers to discuss their seasons on the Canada forum, just like Bballin did for D3 last season and has started again this season. I think we just need to attract the more serious player, and not the team that just signs in, sets their lineup and calls it a day.

Yeah, the forums are too busy. That is probably something we would need to get Beanerz on as I think only he and Rip have access to the forums. I just think it needs to be simplified.

I like these ideas(div IV thread, giving titles to players, simplifying forum(or maybe opening a new one?), showing who did the the biggest chunk of training(i.e. Habs19)) and probably more, but its math class right now.... Better get back to it! :P

One comment: Greerzilla and zmtomako would both do a great job. I think Greerzilla should get the gig again because we.need a manager that will stay for a while and get really really familiar with players, with managers and I feel this will help.

me too

so new NT managers tasks:
- collect the series of topics discussed here
- name action items and due dates for each topic
- assign/find persons responsible for the actions

gotta start making people accountable and run the NT like a business meeting LOL

Mainly directed at Morwood:

What would you have done better last season because I fell short. Also, what is our big weakness and how do you plan to address it.
