Good and understandable question. To answer it simply I would say no. Usually when contacting managers there is never a situation so dire that it has to be attended to right away. A manager will most likely always be able to read our messages at any time (during a respectable length of time) and still fully understand what we were trying to communicate. If the situation were so important that we needed a manager to answer by a certain period of time, then we as a U21 staff would prepare ourselves and the manager and give them at least a few days (preferably a weeks) notice.

As for communicating with the staff, this has never and most likely will never be a problem. Usually our discussions on the offsite begin a week before a game actually takes place, giving everyone enough time to voice their opinion or approve of the tactical decisions. We have a nice system going, that has been working fairly well these past few seasons.

I myself really enjoyed the match against the croatia, where we lost by 4 , i was impressed by the performance of Gregor Simpson , In what was a really enjoyable match he pulled down 21 rebounds and shot 7% including a 3 pointer. It was truly a herculean performance and we can look forward to alot more from him this season.

Hey Daniel, glad to have someone else running. I have a few questions for you. First off, have you had any NT/U21 experience prior to this election? If not what do you think makes you prepared to take on such a large task? Also, what are your opinions about the team this season, and how well do you think we could compete in the competitive European continentals?

Hello SREZ , i have no NT/U21 experience at the moment , But we all start somewhere. I think the long hours i could commit to the management of the team would compensate. My opinions on the team , I think the team lacks the depth to compete with the bigger nations of buzzerbeater but we have a strong core and did well to get the best out of the resources we have the last few seasons.I do feel slowly but surely the message on gameshape and training is coming across to managers. About the euro tourney , lets be realistic , we can make a run if the gameshape of the team is managed well. Even then i dont think we are able to beat the powerhouses , the polands and italy's, But i think with a decent draw we can reach the 2nd round robin stage of the tournament. Then we would see what happens from there.

An enthusiastic manager who has already helped out with the U21s for a couple of seasons?

A vastly experienced NT manager at U21 level?

Someone with no experience at all in the U21 set up?

Would you not be prepared to help out behind the scenes for a couple of seasons before standing for election?

That is a good point , i would take their experience into account of course , but i would like to see how active , knowledgable and enthusiastic they are as well on the forums. If these were equal i would obviously be voting for the Nt manager with experience. Yes , no matter the result of the election , the team is more important than any individual so i will help out behind the scenes with scouting and any other things required for the team.

Good question HOF i was going to ask something similar and will extend it to the other two candidates.

If either/both of you do not succeed in becoming u21 coach this season, would you be prepared to be involved with the U21 set up in another way this season?

If so, what would you like to do to help?

I know that my vote would tend to go with managers who have a track record of helping behind the scenes as it shows a level of interest and commitment that we would expect from a manager. However i always consider experience and personality as much as i can too as these are also very important.

To DanielPaton i think we have been in touch before, but i must admit i am a bit behind with BB related stuff and i can only see so many messages in my BBmail history. Did i get in touch with you regarding a draftee of yours, or regarding helping us track youngsters? i think you maybe drafted a high potential or bought such a player...

Finally if our hollandaise friend does not become u21 manager i think he would earn a lot of respect from our community if he did show exceptional commitment by helping us out in other ways (even though he clearly has a lot of NT experience already and might see it as a bit of a "backwards" step!)

Id also be interested in hearing why you think your own community is not as active as training as ours?
In your time with their U21 did you recognise any things that you or your colleagues did well or not so well that is useful experience to bring to our own U21 team?

... and do you also know that if you become U21 manager you could never leave - we would have to kill you for fear you would run away back to holland with all our amazing training secrets! Oh and same goes for SREZ and his emminence ;)

Yes , John-Godfrey Brown who played the part of role player last season for the u21 last season was drafted by myself , i choose to sell him though as i could not fit his training into my plans or afford a high level trainer for him at that point. Im glad to see him do well.
