Well the comparison with the movie theatre is wrong because it doesn't take into consideration duration. Your comparison is perfect if you want to increase users for one day or for one week.
What I hope for, instead, is a stable increase of BB population :)

It's true, probably many people don't even click on the e-mail 2 days later.
Even if you find a way to give access right away what I can tell is that 100% of them would quit in a month anyway. If you can't wait 24-48hrs, you can't hold for more than a month in a managerial game.

I'm not saying a "direct access" is bad, I agree it would be an improvement. I'm just saying the problem is not there.

Whatever.

The point is when you're in sales, you close the deal when it's in front of you. Putting them off a couple of days just loses business. Making access more difficult for the client also loses business. And all of this is common sense.
