My top 2 starters have $114,000 in salary and game shape of strong and prominent.

Also remember that inexplicable things happen in sports. I play football and last year there was a team that we lost to 3 straight times, and then in our fourth game we won by 23 points. I also play hockey. A few years ago my team beat a team 9-1, and I had 5 goals that game. We played them again a month later and lost 3-2, and I didn't score. Sports are unpredictable. The better team does not always win.


Sure - and in full squad sports, that can happen. If he fielded a full, proper team against me I could shrug it off as bad luck or his advantages taking their toll - but this is not a full squad situation.

Mighty Ballers looked like the only team trying out there.

Is the message when it is Tie vs. Crunch.

Mighty Ballers put more into this game than Silver Palominos.

Is the message you would get, had he gone normal.

Edit; To add, his strengths (although many weaknesses) play in his favor, where his Outside Offense trumps your OD, and his Inside Defense trumped your IS.

The only problem is that the lucky fan ended up playing a mediocre game. That was a fluke. The chances of a lucky fan playing well are low, but still existent. The (very) lucky fan played like something other than a pylon, which made the game a "full squad situation".

Based on my interaction with him being in the same league for a few seasons, I'm sure he feels bad about this. I don't think he thought he'd pull off the win. But nothing can be done about it now. Good luck SP in avoiding relegation.

I'm not trying to rub it in. But to me, doesn't look like as big of an upset if you consider HC Advantage, Enthusiasm and strengths of each team. I also think games like these will become a more common with the Game Engine changes planned, where a team with stronger inside defense and rim protection (SB) will commonly beat Inside oriented teams, if they can outscore them with a better outside offense. Likely the teams with strong inside O will often have weak outside defense as well.

My only comment after further reflection is that far too much advantage is given to teams that field less-than-5 player teams in league and/or cup matches. The simple fact is that if you elect to do this (or forget to set your defaults properly) then your fifth player should be Atrocious in all stats, and you should get a penalty - especially in the second half - for lack of rest.

For an incomplete squad to be able to take full advantage of all bonuses (CT, enthusiasm, HCA, etc) without suffering negatives, and for an incomplete squad to be able to get a 'lucky fan' with any skill whatsoever, degrades the quality of this game engine.

While you might be right, the BB's have to draw the line somewhere and that line is the same ( or similar) for everyone.
Plus it's not like the Lucky Fans are good players either, it's quite possible they already do have atrocious skills across the board but that still means that they will contribute in some fashion to their team.

As I saw somebody mention in the main forum, you also made the mistake of playing an outside based offense. That team starts a lucky fan at Center and a $1700 scrub at PF. If you played LI offense you probably would have won that game. Instead you played an offense that butted heads directly with his 3 decent t players on the perimeter and didn't take advantage of their 2 scrubs inside at all. That just added to the perfect storm here.

this game has a plethora of issues... i love how it manufactures phantom fouls it order to make substitutions.. for some reason this game insists on making substitutions after each quarter regardless if there is 0 seconds on the clock...in my game, some guy jacks up a half court shot at the end of the quarter, it calls a shooting foul and give opposing player 3 free throws..
