There's plenty of time to go (over a month) before the season starts. Why not try and find an optimal time for a draft? Live drafts are always a lot more fun if everyone, or at least most are there and it's never fun if you don't get the opportunity to pick your team.

Yes I agree. There is no need to rush this. There is over a month before the season starts.

And it gives us time to scout how the preseason games go.

What about at the same time as a Tuesday or Saturday BB game or something?
A time where there is more than 1 reason to be online and a time where a lot of people DO come online.

Mate, is there a way to push the draft date forward? Sounds like we will have guys in several time zones, can we perhaps push it out a week and settle a time and date that works for all/most?

Yes there is a way to do so! I will postpone it to october to give us more margin, it can be rescheduled again.

I will try to make everyone co-commissioner in case anything goes wrong.

The draft time is now Sat Oct 5 8:45pm PDT (I didn't realise at first that it was PDT :P)

I would rather discuss about the upcoming season =P

When will Kobe, Rondo and Andrew Bynum come back?
Lebron or Durant for the 1st pick?
Who are the sleepers?
Who are the keepers? (maybe we should try a keepers league since all of us will be playing Buzzer Beater for long time).

But yeah need draft date should be as convenient as possible for the majority.

Kobe, Start of season (first home game)
Rondo, All-Star... if at all, possible trade anyway
Bynum (tin man) back for a game or two then out

LeBron will be first pick, Durant will tip him for fantasy game this year though.
