Final Score
Vietnam U21 79 - 91 Hanguk U21

In the final game of the group stages for the non-qualifiers, our boys put on the pressure and put on a show for the fans! It was a slow start, and Vietnam came at us strong, but as usual, Kyung-Tae Jung (34707136) leads the charge for us early to keep our guys composed and in the game. It was soon all she wrote, as our big man, Sang-Woo Kim (33014743), in his farewell game for the U21 squad, settles in and delivers on both ends of the court, racking up rebounds and just having his way on the inside, just like how Shaq used to do. Without an answer, our opponents threw everything but the kitchen sink at our big C, and still couldn't hold him down. It opened up the court for the rest of the team to pick up some open shots, but being the classy bunch that we have, it was the Sang-Woo Kim graduation game, and the boys just found a way to get the ball to him and stood and watched in awe of his excellence and his years of contribution to the program. He will indeed be missed come next season, and we hope he continues his training progress, and although limited in potential, maybe one day be able to help contribute in some way contribute on the National Team. Our team came out with the victory, but that's just all in bonus to the graduation class of Season 30 Hanguk U21:

Sang-Woo Kim (33014743) - 6GP 200mins 45-91 72 rebounds 2 assists 3 steals 1 block 103 points
"Mr. Big", "Mr. Ball-Hog", "Mr. Everything" - Truly an adamant professional, he has done everything for that this team has asked him to. He's been through the trenches, toughed out the rough patch of losses, picked up rebounds, cleaned up the garbage, refrain from shooting the ball when it's not the gameplan for him to do so. He might not like passing the ball, but he has been a great team player and the team's greatest player.

Jin-Hyung Ahn (33894294) - 2GP 75mins 14-41 4 rebounds 7 assists 3 steals 34 points
"Mr. Trigger-Happy" - not shy to shoot the ball. we hope that you keep on shooting because that shooting% won't get any better otherwise.

Chung-Hee Shin (33014749) - 2GP 61mins 6-16 5 rebounds 6 assists 2 steals 14 points
"Mr. Lucky Charms" - late addition to the team, added to secure the back end of the court defensively, and joined the team just in time, as he was part of both of the team's victories this season.

Season-end awards to come. Stay tuned!
Thank you everybody for a fun season. Keep training those players! The torch is handed down to the next generation of U21 kids. On to off-season scrimmages and training camps, and hoping for a strong showing next season! =)

Thanks Mike and everyone else in the audience... I'm actually surprised we're getting this kind of attention! =)

Well either way, you guys have me for another season for me to serve my term, but yes, I love the community here and I'd love to stay as long as you guys would have me, or when one of the locals want to take over. Just make sure you remember to vote when elections comes rolling by because I think only Sacrum Tigers voted this election, and luckily that was the only vote that I needed. I'm indebted to him for initially giving me this chance, and the rest of you, for accepting me in. =)

Amazing work you and Perpete are doing.
Love to read the after-game thoughts, pretty entertaining.
Regarding the vote, you're thankful and we are too. :)

Looks like Vietnam wants another stab at us. We'll be playing them again in a scrimmage rematch this Monday for pride. See you all on Monday in the post game writeup.

Final Score
Vietnam U21 102 - 79 Hanguk U21

This game shows the significance of a few things.
1. Enthusiasm - since we blew our tank in the game last week when we gave it our all, they were probably up effort on us
2. My mistake in guessing a wrong tactic led to our defense being in a pickle
3. We can't count on Sang-Woo Kim forever boys. This is the transition period, and we really need to start to adapt to playing without him since we won't have his service next season. That means... we really need another big to step up.

Turnovers is the name of the game, and it certainly isn't the stat we want to be winning in. 27 total turnovers in the game vs, our opponent's 8. Yes, I know my bad gdp must've played a role in it, so I'll add that to the list of considerations for future games. But man... 27 turnovers?

But there were some positives. I was watching bits and pieces of the game and it was fun to see that we were missing shots purposely, just to demonstrate our offensive board dominance.
Yong-Ha Ryu (34707108), "Mr. Butterfingers" - 8 Offensive Rebounds, 18 total rebounds, 6 turnovers?
Mr. Big left some big shoes to fill, hope you can live up to the hype.

We'll try to get a few more scrimmages in this season and try to put the pieces together for next season.
Keep training. Good job boys, you guys are doing a great job in that department

And this week we have a young Korean rookie on the market, so if anyone has room to take him on, please consider giving him a shot. Hwan-Suk Hong (34707127)
And there should be a few more next week, so keep an eye out. I'll keep you guys updated.

Cheers!

Thank you and Congrats to EGM-Perpete as well for a season well done. If you guys haven't seen it yet, the Senior National Team won today, making it 3 wins this season, and although they won't be advancing to the knockout round, 3 wins for our NT has almost been an unheard of feat!!!

so please, the great citizens of Korea, I don't know if Perpete plans to take another run at coaching our National Team, I sure hope he does, but make sure you vote at the start of next season! =)

Let this be the start of building from the ground up, and hopefully getting nice young players into the senior team that will last for a while.

as Busan Thunder said
경정태!! 경정태!!! 경정태!!!

Thank you guys! Our national program wouldn't have been as strong without your help.
