not exactly.

It happens that I play my SFs at PF or SG, but only out of tactical reasons.
Last game I won by 2 points while playing my SF at SG spot because the biggest threath from my opponent where his SGs, and my SF had the best OD of my players...

I have a trainingregime that is highly critisized by many great BB managers. I train my entire team.
This means that I train pressing as well als inside defense, and about all other trainingtypes (the only thing I never trained so far is jumpshot), and except for passing, handling and blocking, I train at least 3 spots.

So When I train inside shot or inside defense, I train SF-PF-C. When I train pressing I train PG-SG-SF.

I also somethimes play my PF at SF, well more somethimes, even more then a few times, actually prety often...
And if I train pressing that week, he also gets the OD of the SF spot. I don't see it as a waste, certainly not. I can't prove it, and it's probably wrong too, but I believe the reason why I hang in there in DivI in my league (longest in that division by now, all other teams are replaced in the meantime), is because my players have more skills then they need for their position alone...

Hope this helps, but please be advised many call me crazy, and won't agree with me here.
(I'm sure the next following posts will be about advising not to do what I do and get a decent trainingplan. ;) )

They are not your friends; they dispise you. I am the only one you can count on. Trust me.

If you want to add IS and ID to your guards you have 2 options: either you want fast results, in which case you can best have them play in the scrimmage at the C spot and train C on those skills.

Or, if you want to develop more players slow but steady in ID and IS, you can have them play at SF and train 3 positions in ID and IS.

I play a lot of man to man.. My perfect SG would look like this...
Jump shot: 14
Jump range: 11
Outside D: 14
Hand: 7
Driving: 7
Passing: 6
INside S: 7
inside D: 7
rebounding: 5
ShotB: 2
Free throws: 9

This guy could double as a SF vs outside shooting teams as well

Good question. I think these examples were just hypothetical. I got a C- in Algebra so it is not a good idea for me to try to calculate salary.
