I'll personally give the play-offs MVP award to Luka Cicvaric. In the five games he averaged 24.2 PPG off 44.2% FG, 38.2% 3PT%, and 75% FT. Really impressed me with the way he stepped up in the big games after a very lacklustre regular season. And he managed a last minute go ahead basket against Lewisham that was the difference between us being knocked out first game and going all the way too. To be fair, the PP100 for that game suggests that the win was a deserved one for me.
I think that this season highlighted the fact that there's several good teams in the ABBL at this very moment, as I only needed a 17-5 record to clinch HCA, and by a two game margin at that. What that in mind I'm very happy to have won such a competitive ABBL season, and I do expect the title defence to be a difficult one.
Team isn't broke, so I'll probably keep the same group of players around next season unless I see must-get bargain to help me for a potential B3 campaign. With the way the market is right now though, that seems highly unlikely.
Speaking of B3, based on my performance in a private league I'm in that's stacked with top teams, my chances for the title are looking slim to none, but I can make the round of 32 at least as long as I don't draw too many top teams, especially away from home. Until they change the round robin format to a group system if they ever do, getting a good draw is half the battle in the B3...
