I think back to the early days, the BB's were saying stuff like 'just to survive in the top division you will have to break even!', whereas most of the teams in the ABBL run at a profit


But that depends on what everyone else in the league is doing. If everyone else is going close to the salary limit then you got no choice but to go near it in order to compete. But because there are some teams that are not doing it, other teams don't need to do it either as they can still win games without going near break even.

I don't have a solution for it and to be honest I don't see a problem at all LOL

If someone wants to tank a few seasons for a shot at winning the title 5 seasons down the track then so be it. They sacrifice short term gains for long term goals, then that is their strategy.

kamakaze koop has already shown his hand.. there is no more cash to go all in. And besides I dont see myself winning the abbl anytime soon, so just training players and upgrading arena.

perfectly said... the two bots have really lowered the standard of the Great 8.

Why would you want to go 19-3 and lose to WA is a dump when you can go 3-19 and still win your relegation game to stay alive in the abbl.

The only advantage I see is maybe more ticket sales and merchandise for winning games but even that can be offset by paying less player salaries.

In saying that, I feel this season will be really competitive in the abbl with teams trying hard not to relegate.

I'd choose 19-3 and a 2nd place every day of the week - the aim of the game is to have fun, not to be bored s**tless tanking for seasons on end.

hahah thats the thing.. there is like 50000 teams..
At the end of the day there will always be someone who will tank 10 seasons to win 1 division one title LOL
Now I'm not saying that, that team is me, but I'm just trying to be realistic hehehehe

haha luck does appear to be still on my side. Kinda annoying because obviously and I guess fairly everyone will say luck, doesn't really give me a chance to prove my managerial skills. However I will train this gem, not making that mistake again. But on the same card he does have a few deficiencies.
