Take the wages out of the div 2 average since you are selling your roster and it makes over an extra $250k pw...

really i thought that would be obvious.

your question was

Now I understand how teams tank for money (even if I am against it), but how can you make more profit by playing in a lower league?

My last pl game pretty much sum up the result of this league final lol. I am still missing a starting center and still fiddling around with my new s.g. I got to find the best position and offensive tactics for him. Playing off the bench wasn't a good idea.

glad to see an explosion of debate and im not at the center of it

a few weeks ago i would have exploded with maggots giving you a free 100 point win, now i am just trying to go with the flow

i still would have kept at least one of unwin or hamilton but then again if you want to make max money and prepare a team that can really take d2 and go to the abbl you have to do something

look at iwen - he sold his whole team besides dellasta and came 2nd last, then bought ton and mac, trained like crazy, saved like crazy and look at him now - crazy when snuffles suddenly pulls out his spare 4 million for some bombs and you just said you could have bought unwin AND hamilton so you can also buy a 300k guard and pay him for a few weeks and promote

gonna be crazy stuff in these playoffs, i wish i was a real part of it but it will sure be fun to watch all you big boys butt heads

So you have sold your team and that is your strategy to save money. As much as you thought that was a secret plan it was pretty simple to see what you were doing... Now the question was "how can you make more profit in a lower league?". So, with your salaries not changing next season, will you make more profit in div 2 or div 3? You have already agreed that it is obvious that it is div 2, yet I am wrong in assuming that you would lose profit should you be demoted?

I'm not sure what's gonna happen. Everybody is rolling over for me in league games so my 18-0 is a bit of a misrepresentation.

My point is, If i was a sheep and do what most other people are doing and staying in this div for the next 5 - 10 seasons and make around 50k a week. since only 1 can promote per season and then you still have to put up with the team's getting relegated from the abbl. I am going to try and do something different so i don't become 1 of these sheep. Baaa Baaaa

no doubt this is the hardest d2 by a mile

remember my d2 survey?

div total wages for all teams
2/1 5348
2/2 4487
2/3 4175
2/4 4190

being in this league - especially the big8 - is a total curse, instead you could end up in 2/3 or 2/4 where with the same team you had this season you would be one of the best teams in the league

i am one of those sheep, making 50k a year this season, cant win, not going anywhere, trainees at the end of their usefulness, no prospects for promotion and what the hell to do? there have been teams stuck in d2 for more than 10 years -i think high school drop outs is one, who are good every year but never good enough

i have to give maggots a clap, at least they are doing something radical to try and get there, now i would have kept unwin and hamilton but thats just me, i wish him good luck

I think the key for training to succeed is to ensure your trainees reach their peak as you are ready to make a run for the ABBL. This means their salary may rocket the next season which can be sustained in the ABBL... not so much II... maybe.
