I'd say everything is on the table.

As is well know, my 1 year old selects my enthusiasm setting, anything could happen!

Does HCA always go to the sixth seed or the team with the best record?

Kind of curious how SB play the Thumpers and how the Thumpers choose to play that game to stay out of 8th place.

That's what I'd like to know.

The end of a season isn't all fun and glory, however. Four teams from each division will be demoted to a lower level of divisions. The 8th seed in each conference is automatically demoted, and the 6th-ranked team from each conference competes with the 7th-ranked team from the other conference in a best-of-three relegation series. The fifth-ranked teams are safe, but they dont get a shot at the championship, either.

For the single-match eliminations, the team with the higher standing is given the home-court advantage. When there is a best-of-three series, the team with the better win-loss record has the home-court for the first match and for the tie-breaker (if a third game is necessary), and the lower-ranked team has the home-court for the second match.

I think this suggests that best W-L record would have HCA in the relegation matches. In this case, wouldn't NYJ and BMG be locked into HCA?

So if I finished 7th but have the better record, AND am lower ranked, that means I'd have HCA for all 3 games, right?

Or, not surprisingly, the game manual is wrong....

Indeed, in season 15, when UHR (7th in the Great 8, 10-12) had a better record than Nashville (6th in the Big 8, 9-13), Nashville still had HCA.

The game manual pretty clearly indicates this is wrong, but no one has ever accused BB of being self-consistent.

Hmmm....that was a while ago...

It will probably work in whatever way benefits Grubbses & Scrubbses this season.... :-)

Sounds like they should either fix the code or fix the manual.
