I think it is a great deal for New Orleans. They were faced with the chance to lose CP3 for nothing ala Cavs and instead they got a top 3 young SG in the league, a good trade asset in the big expiring contract, an interesting young prospect and an umprotected Minnesota pick. Booyah!

It was a great deal for LAC as well, CP3 and Griffin = highlight reel and if the Lakers don't do someting they will be the most exciting team in Cali for the first time ever!

12/15/2011 - Koopasaurus has just acquired Donnell White for $ 338 300.

Two time ABBL MVP anyone?

I don't think great is strong enough word ..... they ripped the Clippers off is more accurate. The only way the Clippers win in this trade is if CP3 extends AND Griffen stays AND those 2 can draw other players to the Clippers. Otherwise it is heavily in the Hornets favour for all the reasons you have mentioned yoda.

Funny it was only a couple of days ago someone mentioned this exact trade as the sort of "completly unbalanced and unrealistic trade" that it may take to get CP3. I think it was in the 12 days of christmas series.

Sorry to bust in but I've been very closely watching all the recent NBA trades and I love what the Clippers have done! Yes they are still a way off really solidifying their spot on the big stage but with Paul and the Rim Reaper, they are on the right track. It's a real shame they had to burn Gordon but to gain Paul, to go with a rookie like Griffin, who avg 20pts/10rbd in his official rookie season, massive potential. That has got to be attractive to other big names, especially in L.A. (Clippers or not). They have a back burn of PG with Billups and Williams which I only see as potential to gain. DeAndre Jordan is a C to watch out for, that showed magical highlight reams of his own, in the shadow of Griffin. Caron Butler at SF, these guys are only a decent SG away from kicking some ass!

To add, with a PG line of the following:
Paul
Billups
Williams
Bledsoe

Honestly they can trade Billups and Williams for a decent PG and they are rolling. Of Course Billups could front up at SG but personally I see one more trade to come, before the deadline.

I have read multiple people saying that no matter how they start at the end of big games it will be a Billups and Paul backcourt. Billups is very strong and can guard bigger guards in a way that Gordon actually couldn't so having the CP3 and Gordon backcourt would have actually caused defensive problems against teams with big guards. Having the experience of Billups and Paul on the floor together in CT will be brilliant when most of their other stars are very young and after his treatment by NYK Billups will be wanting, health permitting, to have a statement season.

Look at the LA teams.

CP3
Billups
Butler
Griffin
DAJ

vs

Worst PG in league
Mamba aged 102
Metta World Peace
Gasol
Bynum half crazy and probably injured.
- Odum given away for nothing at all

Is this even close?

You guys wanna check it out:

It looks like that could be a fair match up, although I believe the Lakers aren't done with trading yet!

Interesting. That article gives the Clippers the edge at 3/5 places and the bench. Lakers wins include Coaching (debatable) and center (highly debatable given Bynums recent brain farts and injury history).

What about Williams? Surely he can't be happy coming off the bench.

Personally I would be happy to see the Lakers get owned by the Clippers, not a Lakers fan in the slightest.

they will probably just waive/ametsy Mo otherwise I dont see any reason for picking billups when bledsoe need playing time to develop.

I stand by my statement of gordon will be a flop, an undersized SG who can shoot, he doesnt have good enough handles and smarts to play point.
