In rules it is written that if you use slow tactics, your score is better, but in the end you score less. That's what happened here in the 4th quarter. The new engine changes are just like curse to me - if I use fast pace tactics I lose because I make a lot of mistakes and if I use slow tactics I lose in the last quarter like in your example.

I don't see how slow tactics can be linked to last-quarter breakdowns.

It seems to me that recent engine changes has a lot of to do with stamina. As I remember it was said that slow tactis are better for those who have only few good players. So if I use slow tactics the manager keeps my starting players on the court as long as possible (apr. 46-48 min.) but eventually they got tired in the last quarter and that results in more missed shots. Still it's only my observations.

This is not true, and there must be another reason why your players are playing close to a full game.

You lost because you shot 53% from the line.

I think this GE must be very realistic if they can come so close to predicting the outcomes of NBA games. And, in real basketball, if you shoot 53% from the free throw line while taking 14 fewer free throws, your team is gonna lose most of the time, especially if both teams are of a similar caliber.

I wish someone could explain my recent loss...
(8601637)

Look at the ratings and matchups
can't find the reason for losing.
and for the fact that when tied at 79
one of my players who's a great perimeter defender (11) decides to make a foul. The other guy didn't even attempt to shot the ball. Seems like I can't win this team...

i would say that with regards to ratings, they are fairly even due to tactics played etc. There was only a tiny difference in overall stats but i would say that he won becuase of slightly better rebounding and he had more time at the line. 6 more points from fouls. It's tight and i know it sucks to lose like that.

You were a little unlucky with the amount of shots taken by key players.

Your best 2 scoring positions were PF and C, but they only took 25 shots together out of 85, and your PG (3rd best scoring position) got an off day. His best 2 scoring position were C and SG, who took 42 shots, almost 50%. They made 53 out of 81 points, quite a lot.

I think you would have won with a better offensive tactic though. I think you would have won with either a Look Inside or a Run n Gun, maybe even with a Push the Ball. I don't like the Base Offense at all, since the amount of shots taking with a BO is pretty low on average. Now you are dominated inside (5 subs) and outside (1 sub), while this probably wouldn't be the case with an outside or an inside focus.

You can use the BB-What If thing from Joseph-Ka to predict your ratings with an inside focus, my guess is that it would be around strong(high) with a inside focus, which would have been enough and which would have lead to more shooting of your dominating C and PF.

Thanks for your reply.
I'll try the What-if thing...

About the tactic, I've been trying also Push the ball this season, but get even worse FGP but with more shots being taken...
Don't know why, but even with amazing passers in my team, I still can't get the team to pass a decent amount of assists.

About the look inside, wouldn't focusing on his stronger zone in defense kill me?

Thanks

Thanks for your reply.
I know what happened statistically, what i don't know is why it happened...
Why did my C shot that bad with such a good matchup rating for example.
