I suppose he's right too. I rounded up my player when he was 20.

Cheers. I'm going to follow what you said. Thanks for all the advice. I'll keep you updated on his progress :) hopefully he makes the national team.

Just to add my 2 bob in as the U21 manager, I would imagine it would be very difficult for a player to make the U21 team as a PF/C with a season and a half of guard skills training, his inside skills just wouldn't be up to the required standard by the time he's 21 (not impossible though, if anyone can do it, an 18 y/o with the 4 inside skills at respectable can). Having said that, I imagine such a player will be more wage efficient, and probably better for your own team (and as Direwolf says, you'll be able to train him for longer due to the wage costs being lower). Such a player would probably work out better for the NT in the long run.

I'll qualify this by saying I'm a guard trainer, and have less idea about big men training that others may have however

Well my goal is to get him on the U21 national team and the national team. So what do you suggest to get him on the team? Btw, he is on strong inside defence now.

The training would definitely make him more of a PF than a C but what would you prefer in a PF?

Jump Shot: Prominent JR: Awful
OD: Pitiful Handling: Proficient
Driving: Inept Passing: Average
Inside stuff: Tremendous

or

Jump Shot: mediocre JR: Atrocious
OD: Pitiful Handling: Respectable
Driving: Pitiful Passing: Inept
Inside stuff: Prodigious

Obviously it's a rough estimate above (and sorry for the shoddy layout, I'm still on my phone atm) but with the suggested training I think this player could look something like the first example.
Example 2 is great for a C but we've all seen a million big men who look just like that. For a PF I would say he could probably make the U21 team as a 21 year old (especially in an outside focused offense) and definitely be there for the senior team with further training.

Anyway, I'd definitely take the 1st example and that's what I would do if I just wanted to get the most out of him but I've probably blabbered on enough for now. The info is there, I'll let you decide :P

Do you suggest training one on one for forwards or guards?
Cheers

train ID first and rotate it between ID and reb.. those are the 3 main skills u will be training if u want Viojan on the U21 side.

his OD and passing looks fairly good already.

In my opinion he's very trainable as a SF. Due to his height, you'd be better off training is guard skills for 2 years then switching to outside skills.

I would train IS first. Complimentary skills train faster if they are closer together ie. complimentary skills are IS, ID, Rebounding and SB.

Naker: There isn't heeeeaps of difference in the two and you know what the differences are so it's up to you. I'm assuming playing him at a forward position will work better for your team though so that might be the best option at the moment. Don't forget the JumpShot specific training too though.

Ezyfrag: If you're planning on playing him as a SF (which would make sense given his current skill set), i would go heavy on the Outside D to begin with. SFs still need to have good OD and mediocre just isn't going to cut it. Outside D is also one of the slowest skills to train so this is a perfect time to do it.
