Lakers have yet to play anything resembling strong interior defense in these playoffs. Meanwhile the Celtics have made Howard look like a high schooler, held Rashard Lewis to 15 total points and generally stomped on the souls of the Magic.

Boston/LA is going to be a great series, maybe even historically great. The fact is the Celtics play much tougher defense than LA or any team for that matter, and that gives them an edge. I think the series will go 6 or 7 games and the Celtics will win. Although the way the C's have demolished the two best records in the NBA I wouldn't be shocked if they won in fewer games.

Youre funny that gave me quite a laugh. The Lakers have played great defense at times when they want to. We havn't played against Dwight Howard so it's less noticable but our interior defense is strong. When the Lakers really want and need to win there's no stopping them. Did you see game 5 against the Thunder? I'm not saying Thunder is nearly as good as Boston but they are a good offensive team and we just completely shut them down that game. The only weakness the Lakers have is defending the pick'n'roll, but we have been improving and I don't think it will be a problem against the Celtics because rondo doesn't shoot outside. Celtics can still run it with ray allen and paul pierce but I think we'll be fine. Gasol is going to make KG his bitch, and Artest is going to keep PP under 20 points. I say Lakers in 5 or 6.

Right, just like two years ago, the Celtics will be the Lakers' bitch. You're right, I should change my prediction. Celtics in 4 with all 20+ point wins. See, I can say silly things too. I'm going to ask you an honest question. I'm being completely serious...do you watch basketball? I'm going to sleep comfortably tonight knowing you think the Lakers will own the Celtics, seeing as Rondo has already made sure your last basketball comments look like the ramblings of a five year who's pissed because Rondo wouldn't sign his basketball.

OKC - no big men; for christ''s sake Nick Collison played crucial minutes and was on the floor at the end of the last game.
Jazz - Okur hurt; a bunch of minutes to Fesenko who's little more than a big stiff. Boozer and Millsap can't defend a chair.
Suns - What more needs to be said? They don't care about defense in the least, especially in the paint.

None of these teams brings anything close to what the Celtics do on defense. Not even close. KG isn't the monster he used to be but his legs are back and he's effective one on one and helping on penetration. Perkins is solid as long as he stays out of foul trouble. He's the reason they're beating Orlando so soundly - he can play Howard straight up and nobody else can get open. Sheed decided to show up for the playoffs. He's hitting threes, using his fouls and playing good defense. Him and KG are going to stretch the Lakers defense and open up the floor. Davis is playing great basketball and despite being short he's still grabbing rebounds, working hard on D and taking a ton of charges. That's four legitimate big men. None of the Lakers opponents so far had more than two big men worth anything. Gasol won't be able to walk through the paint like he has all playoffs. The Celtics have a complete team commitment to defense and anyone who isn't on board isn't playing. Basing the outcome of a Lakers/Celtics series on how the Lakers have played against inferior teams is pointless. The C's and Lakers match up extremely well.

For the record, Paul Pierce has scored less than 20 points in 9 out of 14 playoff games. They're doing just fine anyways.

If you have any real, intelligent reasons the Lakers will PWNZ the Celtics feel free to share. If you're going to tell me the LAKERS ARE THE SHIAZINIT and that the CELTICS SUCKZZZZ, don't bother. WHY will Gasol dominate KG? How will Derek Fisher stop Ray Allen? How will Gasol stop KG? And honestly, how will the Lakers score against the Celtics? These are legitimate questions that I would like to hear the answers to. One answer is Kobe, obviously, but what else? The Celtics have played perfect defense for six straight games with no signs of letting up. How do the Lakers do better than the two winningest teams in the NBA?

I'd just like to finish by reminding you how wrong you are about Rondo. I hope the announcers spend the rest of the playoff replacing all of their words with "Rondo Rondo Rondo Rondo Rondo Rondo Rondo." Here are some stats: 21 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists, 6 steals, 1 turnover. That was Rondo's line when the Celtics embarrassed the Lakers by 40 points to win the title.

Im a HUGE Celtics Fan.. as my previous posts have indicated.. I worry about the Lakers, and do predict the Lakers to pull it out, only because they will have home court and I think it will be in 7...

KG is still good enough to guard Pau, .. Probably the only Celtic Agile/Tall enough to.. and the rest of the team can guard Kobe and Lamar.. The key here is that it is Team defense we are talking about and not that they will depend on matchups.

The Lakers will win in seven if they make the extra pass and the role players can step up.. Something the Celtics have been doing all playoffs..

PS.. Why does Perkins always look like someone stole Christmas?

Yes i watch basketball and probably more than you do. I'm guessing I'm younger than you though and haven't watched for as many years but I watch a lot. My comments before were just for fun and to support my team I wasn't trying to make people actually mad, but you seem to have some issues and are getting extremely pissed off by comments that I made for fun, and did not even read all of mine. I had posted saying I'm sorry, rondo isn't actually bad he just bothers me.

Howard has no skills what so ever. Hes big and strong that's it. All you need to do to stop Howard is put multiple big physical bodies on him like the celtics did. Obviously he's still going to score but it will limit him a lot and he will get frustrated and make bad plays.

AS I said we havn't played anyone with good scoring big men, but that doesnt mean we are playing bad defense inside.

The Celtics won't just stop Gasol from scoring, he doesnt just walk through the paint he scores in ways that no matter who is guarding him he's going to score. He's a smart player with geat skill and can pass the ball like no other big man can.

"If you have any real, intelligent reasons the Lakers will PWNZ...." really? Everything I said before was just stupid, and youre some genius that knows everything about basketball and the celtics are going to win because your logic is flawless. I obviously know that the Lakers aren't going to just take a dumb on the Celtics I'm messing around, you know having fun if you know what that means.

Gasol will dominate KG because he can shoot over any defender, KG although has been healthy won't be able to keep up with Gasol all series. Gasol is very skillfull and makes great post moves, and can make passes in no space to give teammates open looks. On defense, Gasol is pretty mobile meaning he can move out of the key and still stay with his man, he doesn't get beat often. KG likes to take those 18 footers, and Gasol can get out there and block him. He did the same thing to Dirk in the regular season.

Fisher is my favorite because everyone thinks he's a liability and he's too slow but he is a warrior. He's a trusted veteran for the Lakers and has been great in the playoffs. He scores when we need him to and battles with his man defensively. He gets the refs to call offensive fouls when players set illegal screens quite often. If he is defending rondo he doesnt need to worry about getting around screens and can play back and force him into bynum or gasol on the drive because obviously no one can keep up with rondo's speed. If he's on ray allen he will run around with him and make sure he's close and allen can't get many open jumpers. Allen will hit his fair share of shots, but fisher will work hard to limit them, and he isn't so slow that he won't be able to keep up with him.

The Lakers will score how they always do, the triangle offense works. Now I know you are already saying what does that mean youre not saying anything, but if you watch basketball then you know what I mean by "it works". We get the ball inside to our big men and try to get isolation for them, and players are moving around getting into lanes, and obivously like every team we have guys on the threes waiting for the pass. The celtics have a great team defense and switch off well, but we have a lot of men they need to cover. Artest his knocking down his shots recently, I've talked about gasol, bynum can finish and has a few moves of his own, fisher will hit his shots, and nothing need be said for kobe. The Heat are much worse than the Thunder, D Wade can't do everything, so they weren't exactly tough to defend. The Cavs are pretty similar, they have 3 point shooters and Lebron. Stop Lebron from driving and their offense goes to smoke for the most part. Then the magic are a little more interesting. As you know we beat them in 5 last finals so it's not like you guys are so amazing for going 3-0 against them.

I ran out of characters so i needed to send another reply.

Stopping the MAgic involves frustrating Howard and defending the 3. The Lakers are one of the best teams at defeding the 3 and we have plenty of 7 footers to halt Howard, which is the same formula you guys used. Not too complicated. You guys have done a good job on Vince and Jameer I admit, and I give you guys props for that. I'm glad we are playing you guys instead of the Magic so that it's actually a competition. Should be a fun series, we'll see how it goes. I would liek to continue this argument, feel free to comment back, just don't get so mad at my opinions.

This is going to be so funny to watch. People just don't realize how good Gasol is. KG is going to have nightmares with him.

Pau will do well, no doubt.

Dominate though?

The season split Gasol had a 16 ppg ave vs Celtics front line ... i HARDLY call that dominating anything.

Did you see game 4? I think that was a perfect example of who's team it really is. It's not rondo's team. Who did the Celtics rely on late in the 4th when it was crunch time? Paul Pierce and Ray Allen. I don't think rondo ever touched the ball on offense besides bringing it up to the magic's half and giving it to someone in the 4th quarter and OT. Now I'm not going back and saying rondo sucks, I'm just saying realize that just because rondo has been a spark for the Celtics this season, doesn't mean it's his team.

Obviously Celtics are going to win this series, but the more games the Magic take them the better for the Lakers.

What happened, no response to my comments back? Although lakers game 4 against Suns didn't help my case, suns had a lot of help from the refs and I still think Lakers will win the championship
