I guess it depends on what your definition of the point guard is, but in general, if its the player that handles the ball and makes the "critical" passes / the play maker which the offense runs through...then I'd have to say AI was definitely a point guard.




I agree that the definition can vary, and this is a prime example. The two factors I wiegh most heavily in dertimining a PG is does he bring the ball upcourt and start the halfcourt offense rolling? Just making key passes can qualify anyone. Jordan was an excellent passer but this didnt make him the point guard. Also, what does his own team and the box score list him as? Are these difinitive? no, just my criteria.
