Hi all,

it's been a while since i posted, but i've been doing my usual bussy schedule. I must say, after 12 seasons NT, i'm glad i'm not the NT coach this season. Joe, i wish u the best of luck! same goes for the B3. All the new rules concerning economics are really made in ur advantage, so maybe this finally will be the season we see Joe win the B3. would be fun to see a Belgian win it!

As for me and my Angels, i have no ambitions what soever to stay in the BBBL. I'm tanking this season. If i can somehow get the 7th spot, then i'll take the extra cash when i go back down. But my prioprity is training my youngsters. I've got 2 players who will be the cornerstones of my futur team and i'm building an economy to be able to be a big player in a couple of seasons (once my trainees are starting to end there training :D) I'll still be on the look-out to add another yonug Belgian to my roster, but i'm not expecting to make a move anytime soon. Any moves that i might undergo will be orientated for the futur of my team.

I must admit that my current economy could get me enough impact players to most likely avoid regulation, but i'd rather restructure my entire team and build one that could challenge for a potential title down the road. I've got high hopes and expectations. i won't deny that i dislike tanking, however my economy took a hit 2 seasons ago, where i was absolutely not expecting to go down at all. So i had to restart from scratch and i don't want to do such a thing again.

I'll be doing many things with the time that i have now (since i'm taking a gap-year from all U21/NT duties, other than the occasional advise for Joe if he would request it). I'm hoping to get enough time around to restructure our Belgian BB forum. I started up that project 6 seasons ago, but burried it due to U21/NT & GM duties. i'll be looking at what i had first, and move on from there. GM-LoD approved my previous draft for the redesign, but a lot has changed since then ;) A lot will involve new threads etc, however some help would be nice. i've already began preparing a new rough draft ( based on the old one). i'll still be contacting Joe for some guides i'm hoping to post up, but the basic idea is to provide a FAQ in Dutch AND French for the new managers. this will require a LOT of my time, but i'm hopefull to finish it by the end of the season.

As for my intentions this season: a long cuprun, a couple of BBBL wins (i'll be chosing specific games. if i think i can win, i won't hesitate to go for it and even throw around the occasion CT. i appologize in advance for the teams that might suffer from my CT since they'll feel disadvantaged, but if i got a shot at avoiding the 8th spot or gaining a spot on the rankings, then i won't hesitate to pull the trigger).

And a special shout out to our newcomer, the Eagles: Best of luck mate! ur playing with the big-boyz now. Forum activity is much higher, don't hesitate to pitch in! I wish u all the best, but BBBL is quite different from II, especially in terms of activity. hope u'll enjoy it and prove to be another active addition to our fora.

hehe i would have noticed my mistake sooner or later, but hey Joe, helping out people is the price you pay for being the star of our kingdom ;)

indeed, bad cup draw... but ask the other guy how he feels to get kicked out of the cup in the second round ^^

Welcome back Revo :)

Good to see you back, but I don't think you should plan on going down this season. Unless boes starts recruiting, they're very likely to end up last, meaning you'll have at least the play-down games. and with yesterday's win at (an overoptimistic) KV, I don't think you couldn't handle it.

About me, it's screenshot time ! Standing on top of the conference :p It's unlikely to last, but the screenshot will.

Well, so far so good.
Last night I marked my second victory after only 3 games, never thought this would have been possible, but i guess you never know. I'm actually standing at 3rd place currently, although, i know, the competition is still only premature, a lot can happen in the coming weeks, so i'm keeping my fingers crossed as i speak ;-)
I have to admit, last night was a big surprise for me in terms of the game of Joe vs Coach Q. Mizu Arlon really surprised me in this game with how strong they really are, they made quite an impression on me. Joe, i'm thinking you are going to have strong contender this year for the title and the cup. It won't be easy to shake off Coach Q's side, but with you anything is possible, so we'll have to wait and see how that turns out.
Also, congrats to dartreb for standing alone on top of the strong red conference. I mean, standing first with 3-0 in games and such worthy opponents in your conference, that alone is an achievement. Offcourse, not much conclusions can be drawn after only 3 games down the road, but still, no one can say you didn't were first at one point in the competition ;-)

grtz,
Eagle.

Yeah, Joe prefers keeping his fresh forces to throw them in my face instead of Q's :p

I understand that he will rather drop the away game at Arlon, which is extremely uncertain, and make sure to win at home against me. I am extremely happy with my season start and I'll try to focus on playing time, to make sure my players will be in top shape for the weeks to come - there are lots of important games !

Let's hope I can continue to get bots in the cup for a couple of weeks ...

still, i'm working on a minimum salary team. i could invest if i wanted to, but that would really screw up my training. Futhermore, the other division is stronger than the one i'm in, so whoever ends 6th there would make PO's in our division. if i could end 6th, the maybe i might be able to stay with the HCA, but training wise, another season in II would be more than perfect for me :D just need to find that extra Belgium player to round out my training slots. but hey, i'm a veteran coach and altho i might not have Joe's IQ when it comes to tactics, i'm no slouch either. If any team makes the mistake to taking my team lightely, they could end up having a rough time against my team :D But i don't have the intention to recrute players to stay in the BBBL. Either my current team is strong enough ( highly unlikely, but who knows. a couple of injuries can change fortunes for many teams...) or i'll go down with a team that is financially sound enough to come right back up. Either way, my finances will be very healthy to add some more talent to my team upon my next return, at which point my trainees should be getting near the end of their training and at which point i will be gunning for more than just PO participation. but for now, low expectations and if i exceed em, all the better.

u should send the screenshot to Buzzerbeater Echo, the french magazine :P we should do an article on it :P

OK, once again I have felt the strength of Joe's squad. Despite valiantly fightinhg 3 quarters, we completely crumbled in the last one. - 27, it's not even one of my best ones.

So Joe is leading 9 - 1 in our games, not to mention that he dropped on my only win.

Well ... I just can just hope it will not be like this FOREVER.

About your squad Revo, the bottom salary cap being 380 k, you should just target a 400 k roster, which might even be able to allow you to save your skin. That would be a double : not only do you get money and keep it, but staying in BBBL means you can't change conferences also. Because if you drop and then come back, it will be another random to decide where you land.

EDIT : you're just fine with your wages ... didn't realize.

to save my skin, i would require to end on the 5th spot. cause any PD game would be lost before it started for me. i'm unsure what's happening with Amenra and Boes, but i'm enjoying my salaries atm :D and despite having by far the lowest salary of the BBBL, i'm still sitting at 2-2. my biggest issue is that i'll most likely get swept by the other division. eitherway, i'm hoping to get one more win before the interconference games start. if i could manage to drag out a 2-5 record in the interconference games, then that would put me at 5 wins with 7 games left to play. if everything goes supremely well, i might consider to make some recrutements to win a potential play-down series, but as stated before: it's clear what my goals are. i'll admit that this conference is less strong than the other one, but the way things are looking now, i'd dare say that our conference will see 3 new teams each season untill one of ur teams drops out for economical issues... but i won't deny, if i got a shot at saving my skin, i will take it, but it has to be one that can pay off on the long term. saving my skin this season to then find myself relegated the season after that would be a horrible joke and i've made it clear that training my players will be my number 1 priority for a while ;)
