Thanks! It was a really good game that was close pretty much the whole game. I'm pretty surprised we managed to win (got a bit of help with the FT differential) but my team has been over performing the entire season and also in the national tournament. We didn't have any all stars so I guess not everything can go our way lol.

Saturday will be a measuring stick day for the current top teams as the #2 in both conference is playing the #1 in the other. Will the Big 8 rebound from their embarrassing performance last Saturday where 7 of the 8 teams lost at home? I'm not feeling very confident for my part.

I was excited for this one. And it didn't disappoint! Great game down the the last minute. Could have gone either way. Don't believe the 12 point pd.

We gave it our best shot, but it wasn't enough. Good game! Not been a good last few games for the Dragons faithful. Hopefully they show up still on Tuesday for a third straight tough matchup.

Gentlemen,

It's been a pleasure helping you pad your stats this season. I appreciate that most of you took it easy on me during phase one of the rebuild. I'm working on a team composed of all SF's (one with an inside defensive focus) and an all D Center duo. I want to get to the point where the game engine can interchange positions 1-4 and take advantage of some mismatches.

This league is still the best in BB by far.

Hi Arch…just curious, why are you putting together a team like that using all SFs? And what kind of mismatches do you foresee? The way my season has gone, I could use some fresh thinking.

My sojourn into DIV II last year and other games where I thought I should have been competitive. The idea is to have a roster where the game engine can plug in any player anywhere except for the center position. I've controlled substitutions for years and have only been able to get to DIV II so I thought I'd try something new. There were games where I dominated the ratings, but ended up getting blitzed by an out of position player raining 3's. As far as i know, there's no in-game penalty for playing out of position (other than a low rating) so I figured it was worth a shot.

Once it was clear that I wasn't hanging around DIV II, I experimented with open lineups and the engine was a little limited in where it would put players. If I don't give it any choice (i.e. they are basically all the same), I may be able to force some variety in substitutions. I'm also going to mess around with strategies to see where I get the best results.

It's just an experiment though. I can always reinvest in the standard setup if it tanks.

Another one for the archives. This time we came up short. A great game all the way through it was tied up going into 4 and went down to the wire.Out rebounded by 35, forcing 28 turnovers was enough to keep it tight. But not enough to get us over the top. A very untimely injury to Albert Escobar and a loss by Slashing Dragons oddly has the team feeling like they came out of the night better than we went in.

I must say, I didn't account for the winner of your game last night coming away with a multi-game injury. Missed opportunity for me there not to try harder to win my game last night.

#4 Hastings Hornets vs #1 Slashing Dragons

Hornets seem content packing it in for the season and sold Joy right at the end of the season. Dragons are back at full strength, so this should be anticlimactic.

Dragons by 18

#3 Dark Matter vs #2 Limbus

Limbus won both of the matchups this season despite having 100k less salary. My head says Limbus will win but my heart is rooting for Dark Matter.

Limbus by 7

#4 Bananahorns vs #1 Rashmonsters

Bananahorns is still coasting while Rashmonsters look like an early favorite if not for a last minute injury. The injury won't be enough to stop him in the QF.

Rashmonsters by 23

#3 Aim Assist vs #2 Evergreen Xenos

A stellar defense can produce unexpected upsets as my team is well aware after losing to Aim Assist earlier in the season. But Xenos as the better overall team.

Great job hitting all those picks close.

I don't want to over hype this weekend but it's probably the most competitive semi final round in the history of buzzerbeater. I'm very excited for it.
