Actually... pretty good game to watch.
Very tight finish, just pipped.

edit: I have no idea of their comparative skills, but Honda was abysmal tonight, whilst Kawagichi was very good.

I have to agree with you.....Saiki being on the team is a stretch, but starting is a joke. That is a major fail for Blank Line Ups. It is also sad that the GE rewards bigs with no OD.

He was playing D2 in italy but the team went bot, not just JBBL where it happens.

Nice win in the scrim tonight & I liked seeing Eita being 1 of the top 2-3 players for the second week. :)

Busy with travel - summer holidays?

The end of the summer is busy, but mostly, i get fired up about two or three things in buzzerbeater.

I get fired up about the cup.

I get fired up about the beginning and meat of the NT season.

I get fired up about the playoffs if im in them.

I could spend time picking apart NT games and all but the fact remains, the biggest part of the NT is selecting the team in the beginning of the season. Running the NT team after the season amounts to selecting the roster, and setting a blank lineup. Its kinda of the sad truth of this game as it is.

I learned the first season that tinkering with the lineup too much as well as straying from Look inside is a recipie for disaster.

Dont worry, I check my email. Truth is, i havent gotten any emails about people requesting things from me, just the occasional post.


Our team is in good shape. But the blank lineup / look inside kind sap the excitement from the tail end of the season. Im here. I may or may not run for NT coach next year...but just so everyone knows, the job of the NT coach is decided on training day every Friday.

We get ID, Reb, Passing, IS SB pops, we get better. at this point, the other pops just dont matter as much. It is a sad truth of this game. In theory, we should be worried about teams running Princeton or Run and Gun, but if I can get away with running a 3rd semi-big at SF, it will beat out a well rounded shooter there every time.

What Japan NT really needs is a third big so I can run Yasujiro at SF. and we can move our traditional SFs to SG.

Motivated in what capacity?

People should be sending me players. I havent gotten 5 NT related player emails in my 2 seasons as coach save a couple managers.

Begging people to train stuff? If there is enough player competition its not a problem.

We will see. NT coach should be about managing players and the team.

The motivating part, im not with that. You want an NT player, train him, then hound the NT manager. That's basically how it works everywhere else.

So how ever it turns out, im fine. But lets not pretend the strategy element of this game is what it was. The job of the NT coach is to put the best look inside team that countries' players can put together.

What vision of that do you have for Japan's future? If you see Yasujiro at SF, who's the other big at PF/C? With the risk of sounding a bit conceited, I'm assuming it's K-Mat... what about the other young bigs - Wakatsuki & Kishita?

I don't think that's necessarily the truth in other small nations. I know when I coached the Welsh U21 team (quite a bit of difference) I absolutely had to hound owners. Reverse has been the truth with Tim - I'm building him... and every season trying to entice the HK NT manager into taking him on!
I guess my point is, if a player isn't taking the direction you desire, perhaps you should be taking it up with their owner...

Nah, we got a good group of young talent.

but if we are going to do something to put us over the top, we need a "wrinkle".

It simply amazes me with what Yasujiro has, the game engine just love to play the guy at SF. There is a part of me that wants to coach the NT next year, but with fantasy Football, soon Fantasy Bball and next seasons' cup...im still thinking if i have to time.

I just want the team to stay focused around players between 26-30/31. You can USE 32/33 year olds...but you MUST NOT depend on them.
