no doubt this is the hardest d2 by a mile

remember my d2 survey?

div total wages for all teams
2/1 5348
2/2 4487
2/3 4175
2/4 4190

being in this league - especially the big8 - is a total curse, instead you could end up in 2/3 or 2/4 where with the same team you had this season you would be one of the best teams in the league

i am one of those sheep, making 50k a year this season, cant win, not going anywhere, trainees at the end of their usefulness, no prospects for promotion and what the hell to do? there have been teams stuck in d2 for more than 10 years -i think high school drop outs is one, who are good every year but never good enough

i have to give maggots a clap, at least they are doing something radical to try and get there, now i would have kept unwin and hamilton but thats just me, i wish him good luck

I think the key for training to succeed is to ensure your trainees reach their peak as you are ready to make a run for the ABBL. This means their salary may rocket the next season which can be sustained in the ABBL... not so much II... maybe.

i dont agree iwen

i admit i have totally screwed up my training so maybe i should just shut up, but i see no problem with your trainees being in the 80-120k range in the season you are trying to promote, if they peaked a season earlier, so what?

in fact it may be a huge advantage if they actually peaked the season before then you could "do a naker" and have a season off serious training and just pump your trainees stamina and free throws through the roof and then game shape near the playoffs and not have to worry about training minutes or guys out of position at all - cant tell me that wouldnt be an advantage

Baaa Baaaa Baaa, ;P

Don't worry one day you will snap and do something, when you get sick of doing the same thing over and over, or your favorite player wont train anymore.

People need to look further down the track and not what is just happening now.

Not only Maggot who gave me a free win, the Marmots as well. There's no need to get upset over it. Take a deep breath and focus on your own goal.

Snuffies have been quiet so we don't really know what their plan is. I am just hoping Snuffies to step up and challenge iWen. For me, I don't need a 300k guard, I need a 100k Center. I don't like buying 300k player because their market is very small and they will depreciate when you resell and make further loss when you take tax into consideration. That money I could put it into building a better foundation for next season.

The reason iwen says to time is because of the impact a high salary trainee can have in their last season. It's the same in any league. If you're making a run at it, you want the best players you can afford. A trainee tall can jump massively in their last season but can be used as an advantage as it means come playoffs you have a player with skills that your team cant necessarily afford. When you promote the extra income more than covers the cost.

I learnt the lesson about how much harder it is to stay up in ABBL. Saving money is a good idea, because you probably need some very good money behind you to buy the extra players you need and survive for 3 seasons in order to be a consistent ABBL team. Look at Phoenix 5 and their last few season, they have not got established in the ABBL, which takes a lot of money.

I think dropping dowan and saving up lots of money could be a very good tactic. I will be watching with interest.

Phoenix 5 is a good team but he just can't let go of Radford and his massive salary. Until that happens he will struggle in ABBL and even in div2.

Drooping down or demoting is never good financially no matter how to put it.

Ah, see that's where I disagree.

I have 4 trainees at the moment.

Ton - 38k
McArthur - 75k
Dell'Asta - 69k
Iregui - 22k

My training has them peaking in salary by the end of this season, and even further next season for McArthur. I can't support their salaries in II any longer.

I expect next season their salaries will be around..

Ton - 75k
McArthur - 100k
Dell'Asta - 90k
Iregui - 35k

That's 300k just on 4 players. Not leaving much for my big men or backups (or lack of..).

If I don't promote I may need to sell some to financially stay afloat. I don't want to though..

slam ! has higher wages than that for one player and is doing well

aussie batlers did too

last season whitebeard had total salaries around 700k and this season so does hopelessly addicted

you are lucky if you can get away without having to have a monster roster

and maggots put their momey where their mouths are with a purchase of a bomb trainee 18 yo mvp

3/21/2011 - Maggots has just acquired Onur Rasit Düs for $ 1 800 000.
