Eugene has a 1 point game at half. Going to be interesting to see how this plays out.

This was a really weak draft. I just scouted the old fashion way which I was accumstomed to:

Scouting Combine (10 points); Group Demonstration (10 points); interview/scout all 18 year old prospects.

It seems you were able to reveal every prospect's TSP by using your method -- which costs 50 points, right? Seems like the better method.

Yeah, 50 points to get all of the skills and then based on that info decide whom to scout/interview. Now that 19 year olds can have skills up to strong, getting all of the skills also tends to provide ages. There can be some 19 year olds who don't have any skill at strong, but most seem to have at least one.

I agree that this appears to be a really weak draft. Only two 19 year olds over 60 TSP and both were just 61. Only three 18 year olds above 50 TSP, although one is at 56. I'm crossing my fingers he falls to me at the third pick but not counting on it.

I generally consider 45 TSP for 18 year olds and 55 TSP for 19 year olds about the limit, although make exceptions at times if someone is a point or two lower and has no skills at awful or below.

I ended up scouting eight 18yr and four 19yr, so spent 86 points in total.

I believe I know the two 19 year olds you speak of (one scored 32, and the other 58).

My top pick: 6-6, A, 5/4, 18 year old guard (scored 26 points).

2nd on my list: 5/4, A, (6-5?), SF (scored under 10). Being that he is a SF and forwards are well rounded, he might be the guy you're talking about. Also, I saw your previous post, and that sounded like this guy.

I ended up scouting eight 18yr and four 19yr, so spent 86 points in total.

How many scouting points did you save? Did you continue to invest money into scouting points?

It sounds like you got the right guy as #1, as I found only two 5/4 18 year olds and the one with 56 TSP was the guard. Although your post also makes it clear that each team gets different box scores for the guys, as the points scored don't match at all. I suppose it is possible one of the guys with 47-49 TSP who I didn't look at could be a 5/4, but with multiple atrocious skills, I really doubt it. The two 19 year olds with 61 TSP both ended up with only 2 potential, so not really good draft picks.

Your second pick is most likely the Player 10 I posted earlier. He's the only other 5/4 18 year old I found. I put him fourth on my list behind your likely #1, my Player 29 and a 19 year old who has 54 TSP and no skill below inept. Although he also has no skill at strong, which is why I scouted him in the first place. It was somewhat of a tossup for 3 & 4, and I decided to go with the guy who would be ready sooner. Of course, I'm hoping that if I get either of those two it is actually in round 2.

I still have 96 scouting points. I invest 10k per week every season, whether or not I will be drafting. That's 28 points a season, and I don't plan to use them if I'm not drafting in the top four. I broke that rule a little bit two or three seasons ago to test something out, but only spent 40 that season. So the last time I really drafted was in season 29. And I'm not sure when it was before that, as I spent a long time in Div III being competitive but not able to win as well. Realistically, with my approach you could probably draft every 3rd or 4th season, since you'd have 84 or 112 scouting points to use.

And rather than double post, congrats to Hassan. Hell of a final game. Actually went and watched the replay of the fourth quarter. Had to be nerve wracking for both teams.

i just found out the result -- got caught up watching the incomprehensible shenanigans of Westworld -- actually, i was too nervous to watch the game and seeing robots shoot people helped relieve the tension.

You got yourself one helluva team, and with HCA i would be congratulating you. thanks for a memorable series.

That was very forward-thinking of you to invest 10K a week for scouting points. That's fantastic. It's been a pleasure competing aginst you and your intellectual appraoch to the game.

I enjoy competing against and brainstorming with NBBA managers. There is a reason you all are here.

Best of luck to all in future seasons
