I would train IS first. Complimentary skills train faster if they are closer together ie. complimentary skills are IS, ID, Rebounding and SB.

Naker: There isn't heeeeaps of difference in the two and you know what the differences are so it's up to you. I'm assuming playing him at a forward position will work better for your team though so that might be the best option at the moment. Don't forget the JumpShot specific training too though.

Ezyfrag: If you're planning on playing him as a SF (which would make sense given his current skill set), i would go heavy on the Outside D to begin with. SFs still need to have good OD and mediocre just isn't going to cut it. Outside D is also one of the slowest skills to train so this is a perfect time to do it.

yeah i meant IS not ID lol, it was a typo

"train ID first and rotate it between ID and reb.. those are the 3 main skills u will be training if u want Viojan on the U21 side."

G'day blokes,

just lettin you all know how my big mate is going. A triple bump this week so I am going to start a cycle of big boy training to get him one bump in each of is, id and re then back to some more outside skills.

Tory Shaylor (13436902) Shooting Guard
Weekly salary: $ 6 206
DMI: 54100
Age: 18
Height: 7'0" / 213 cm
Potential: allstar
Game Shape: proficient
Jump Shot: respectable ↑ Jump Range: respectable
Outside Def.: respectable Handling: awful ↑
Driving: inept ↑ Passing: inept
Inside Shot: inept Inside Def.: average
Rebounding: respectable Shot Blocking: average
Stamina: atrocious Free Throw: mediocre
Experience: atrocious

So that is 5 bumps so far this season. Grouse! Now on with the big boy stuff and soon he will be good enough to be a regular starter for me. Great bloke!

So Mallima or anyone, what do youse guys recommend? I still hope he can make the U21 team even if his potential means he will never make the national team. I am hoping that by keeping him well rounded and never training sb that his salary will stay decent. The other strategy would be to never train his is and just make him a defensive beast. Which would be more attractive to the U21 team?

Very nice player and awesome to see a triple pop. I don't think i've ever had one of those (although i don't train 1 on 1 often).

As a big man, he has really great outside skills so you're ahead of the field in that area. I would say that Passing is a must (that'll train some more handling as well) and get started on those "big man" skills. Besides the Passing and Stamina, not much there i don't like for an 18 year old big guy so far.

Keep up the good work!

Nice player, but I think if you want to get him on the U21 team you are going to need to train up Inside shot soon. Not training inside shot will also slow down his other primary skills so those will train slower as well.

I would also try and get passing up a few levels.

Goodluck!

what a superb rookie, start training big man skills now if u want him to make the U21 side

and keep the big man skills balanced (IS, ID, rebound, block) all within 5 levels of each other with block being the lowest.

if u want, u can train passing to respectable at most while hes still young, then concentrate on big man skills the rest of
the way. he will prolly still make the U21 side even if u do that.

play him for 48 mins at PG in a scrimmage game and train 1 position passing for about a month.

Looks like a good player. I'd say he'll struggle to make the U21 as a centre or a pure big man due to his low IS, but he looks like an interesting SF type prospect and is probably a real chance to make it if you go down that path.

There would be a couple of ways you could go with him in the long run I guess:

You could ignore his IS, and get his other skills up with a focus on his defensive (both inside and outside) Jump shooting skills. Would make him a nice SF, or even a PF in an outside offense at a pinch.

Alternatively, could get his IS up, and make him a well rounded PF type.

I'm inclined to think that option #1 would give him the best chance at the U21s.

If you go with the first option, for now I'd pump up his passing to ressy, then work on his ID for a bit.

If you want to keep him balanced, I'd start hammering away on his IS, with maybe some passing training later in the season if you get the chance.
